Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Now, I love me some Donald Glover. I think he’s one of the most creative TV minds out there right now. But he recently talked about why Phoebe Waller-Bridge left Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and it sure sounds a lot like Glover’s male ego couldn’t handle working with a woman who had her own voice and creative vision:
GLOVER I donât think we ever felt comfortable enough with each other. And thatâs OK. Thatâs what happens when youâre two captains. Itâs like, âThis is how I run my ship.â âWell, this is how I run my ship.â And itâs such a big idea, this show, I donât think it can have two captains. I mean, she rewrote the pilot, and I saw her script and I was like, âItâs definitely not my style,â but if sheâd done it with her in it, weâd all be like, âThis is a great fucking show.â
He also describes the process as a divorce, which, despite his attempt to spin it as a positive, sounds awfully … ugly.
GLOVER Itâs a divorce in a weird way. Youâre like, âOh shit, this should have worked.â And this is just me, being honest, but I think a good relationship is one where you donât waver from the extremely uncomfortable. And I donât know if we were ever going to get to a place where we could be completely brutal to each other.
WELL.
Sunny Hostin has revealed that she goes by “Sunny” because Nancy Grace was incapable of saying her Spanish name, AsunciĂłn. Sounds about white.
I Think You Leave will be coming live to a town near you soon and — GASP! — Houston is actually included on the tour.
Dakota Johnson hated being on The Office, and she doesn’t care who knows it.
Listen, we’re all jealous we’re not in the season three White Lotus cast, Jennifer Coolidge.
There will be a Love Boat-themed Princess Cruise this summer that will include original cast members Bernie Kopell, Fred Grandy, and Ted Lange as well as special guests.
If it feels like your streaming services were more expensive this year, that’s because they were (and that’s not even taking into account the crackdown on password sharing).
Speaking of, Disney+ will start their own crackdown on password sharing this summer. No word on how much more it’s going to cost us.
