Ron DeSantis is still in the “finding out” stage.

Be careful out there.

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

David Zaslav is really excited to bring Republican voices back to CNN. And you know what? I get it. I understand wanting to present the network as being balanced, and willing to present both sides. And in a healthy political environment, it would be an admirable aspiration. HOWEVER.

Christiane Amanpour disapproves.

Welp, Ron DeSantis, this is what happens when you fuck around with the Mouse. Now you’re finding out, dummy. One note about this story: people are going to oversimplify this and suggest that canceling this $1 billion development in Orlando is Disney retaliating against DeSantis and the Florida GOP for revoking their special district. But there’s more to the story than that. This development was part of a plan to relocate the Disney Imagineers from California to Florida, a plan that was met with a great deal of anger from the employees, especially once Florida started passing discriminatory laws, like Don’t Say Gay, and the recent ones coming after trans folks. There wasn’t a lot of enthusiasm from the Disney employees — particularly those who are part of the LGBTQ community — to move to a state that was actively passing laws against their very existence. So canceling this development — while it is directly a political act against DeSantis’ policies and serves to punish him for his attacks on the company — is also just a sound HR decision on Disney’s part.

Roseanne Barr is out here blaming Sara Gilbert for getting fired after she tweeted some racist shit.

The big #Scandoval Vanderpump Rules finale was last night, and if that mattered to you, I’m sure you watched it. But if for some reason you didn’t, here’s what you missed.

YouTube has invented the TV commercial.

This story about Sarah Silverman losing both of her parents in two weeks is absolutely devastating and beautiful all at the same time.

Writers’ Strike Update

SAG-AFTRA will hold a strike authorization vote before they begin negotiations with the studios begin on June 7. Their contracts with AMPTP (The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) expire on June 30, so this is being used as a bargaining tool.

According to the WGA, the strike is costing Hollywood upwards of $30 million a day — which is exponentially more than what they are asking for: an estimated $429 million per year.

Euphoria and The Mandalorian are likely to be delayed because of the strike.

The Daytime Emmys have been postponed and the 2023 Peabody Awards have been canceled. However, the Tony Awards are going to go on after they made some accommodations with the WGA.

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is going to stop paying its non-writing staffers.

Wil Wheaton has some thoughts about Ken Jennings crossing the picket lines to tape Jeopardy!

Late-night writers made you a little video about the strike:
