Sam, Dean, and Cas are all gathered in Jack’s room. The Boy of the Camellias tells them not to be sad. A coughing spell comes over him and he drags in a breath from the oxygen mask by his bed—which honestly just made me laugh, because I’m dead inside.

Jack is sitting alone in the Bunker’s kitchen. He takes a sip of coffee, testing to see if it’s right. He picks up the sugar dispenser and holds it over his cup for an 8-count (as one does, if you’re me). Dean walks in and is like, simmer down with the diabeetus, Wilford. Jack explains that, without his powers, everything tastes different. He can’t get his coffee how he likes it, so.

Dean pauses in the doorway of the Bunker library where Sam is holding a morning briefing with the AV Clubbers. Dean seems amused; Sam seems embarrassed and quickly breaks up the meeting. It feels at first like Dean is busting chops, but it’s not like he can just come right out and tell Sam that he’s proud of him. Approval is something they each got so rarely from John that they don’t know what to do with it. So Dean has to tease.
