HAPPY HALLOWEEN, BABIES!
Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The View chose again to not wear costumes this year, but instead opened with a sketch that paid homage to Obsession, and honestly, it was more entertaining than anything Live! with Kelly and Mark did. (Live!: ya’ll need to hire some actual writers.)
Even though Sunday marks the end of spooky season, which bums me out, it also marks the return of the best low-stakes drama on TV: The Gilded Age. Here’s what you need to remember before it returns.
First of all, Eddie Murphy is a notorious asshole, but secondly, Noah Wylie’s daughter is clearly the sweetest child ever. AND BEFORE YOU CLICK THE CLICKY, I want you to come up with your own scenario as to how those two statements are related to one another.
Which narcissistic weirdo is considering running for President today?
My favorite person on TV this week was this guy:

Hey, so today is the last day of early voting in Texas. If you haven’t voted yet, or can’t get there today to do so, make sure you have a plan to vote on Tuesday. Here in Harris County, the ballot is very long (it’s literally the longest in the country), so make sure you carve out enough time and are able to vote down the ballot. The turnout numbers have been really great so far, but let’s make sure this is too big to rig.

RIP Patrick Stewart. What an actor. I still can’t believe he agreed to do this scene. And he didn’t even mind when I ruined every take. Legend. https://t.co/QazyDScCOU

I am mid-flight right now and I have just received the news that Sir Patrick Stewart has left us. Modern technology is both an impressive and an extremely cold thing. Internet databases have already begun referring to him in the past tense. “Sir Patrick Stewart was…” and such a surreal sight hangs heavy on my heart.
Patrick was a friend. Not a close one, mind you, but it was a friendship, an “acquaintanceship” perhaps, that spanned more than half my life.
Ann Cook Calhoun was an extremely well published and well known Shakespeare scholar who also happened to be a dear friend of my family. A better way of describing our relationship is that she became something of a fairy godmother to me, taking an early interest in my education, both financially and academically.
Ann and Patrick had been dear friends for many years (since their mutual involvements with the Royal Shakespeare Company) and she often told me that I reminded her of a young Patrick. Of course, I always thought the comment was her way of being encouraging. Once, when I was attending the graduate Acting program at Columbia University, Ann came to New York with my parents and took us all to see Patrick play Prospero in a Broadway production of “The Tempest”. That was the beginning of my association with Patrick and, in that one evening, I saw what an artist and a professional truly looked like.
Flash many years forward, and you can imagine our mutual surprise at finding ourselves in the very small club of Enterprise Captains. Just… I’m not sure there’s another word for it but “bonkers”. Every time we saw one another, Patrick and I couldn’t help but marvel at this strange serendipity and how Ann, God rest her soul, would have been over the moon at this kismet. While I always thought that Ann had just been doing me a favor, I eventually realized that she really had seen something in me that would, for whatever reason, prove a connection to her dearest old friend. God, I loved her.
Like I say, I didn’t know Patrick incredibly well, but I always knew him to be generous and gracious to a fault. Our first time appearing together as captains was at the network up-fronts in New York. I had arrived late because of my production schedule so I didn’t get to rehearse our bit on stage before we walked out to the lights and cue cards. Of course, I completely missed my mark and had to adjust which made the entire audience laugh. Patrick held his opening line, looked at me and made a gesture as if to say, “You good?” I nodded vigorously, which seemed to elicit another laugh and he nodded back as if to say, “Alright then.”
Patrick had presence, generosity and good grace to spare, and along with an incredible intellect, he brought those qualities not only to Jean Luc, but into a lived integrity that made him an exemplar for lost, young actors looking for a way. I’ll always love him for it. I’m just sorry that was our one and only moment on stage together. Even our turn together in “Dr Strange” was pieced together in post. Why? Because he was shooting Star Trek: Picard” and they couldn’t get him off the set. Jean Luc was if not his first love, his deepest.
Oh well. Perhaps in the next play, in the next theater, he’ll hold a small, nameless roll for me and I will carry that spear with delight.
Bravo, Patrick. I will miss you dearly. Until next time… Engage.

This was the moment I had dream of, the moment I had feared. Patrick Stewart walking onto the bridge of the USS Enterprise that I had recreated. Would he hate it would he love it. What would this moment feel like. For months we agonized over every detail, then the moment came and he walked onto the bridge and moved to the chair that had helped define his career and he sat down. I clicked the shot as that smile fell over his face. This is how I will remember him. Such an honor to have had the opportunity to work with such an extraordinary individual. He will be greatly missed.

If you haven’t had the chance. Listen to his autobiography on audiobook as he narrates it himself. I listened to it on one long roadtrip during a very challenging time and it’s truly a gift.— Dave Blass (@DaveBlass) October 29, 2026

They say you should never meet your heroes, but as one of millions who grew up admiring Patrick Stewart, it was a joy to get to know him and discover that his kindness and decency were just as great as his enormous, generational talent. There will not be another like him, and with the sad news of his passing, our thoughts are with his wife Sunny, his family, and his many friends. Our culture is so much richer because of Sir Patrick Stewart’s life and work.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from “X-Men” to “Logan” to “Avengers: Doomsday.” He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

There was something extraordinary about the way Sir Patrick Stewart could make even the most powerful characters feel profoundly human.
Whether commanding the bridge of the Enterprise or guiding a generation of young mutants, Sir Patrick Stewart brought a tenderness to his characters that made us feel we knew them. Behind that unmistakable voice was an actor who understood that even the greatest heroes could be uncertain, that strength could exist alongside vulnerability, and that compassion was never a weakness.
Over a career spanning more than six decades, his performances became woven into the lives of generations who grew up watching him. As Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Professor Charles Xavier, and so many others, he left us with characters we loved, lessons we carried, and memories we’ll always treasure.
