Is this why they call them “Boxers”?

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
I am back in the salt mine, working… working on so many bloody things, my head may soon explode. Yes, WINDS OF WINTER, yes, yes. And HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, season two. And several of the other successor shows that we’re developing with HBO. (Some of those are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development. None have been greenlit yet, though we are hoping… maybe soon. A couple have been shelved, but I would not agree that they are dead. You can take something off the shelf as easily as you can put it on the shelf. All the changes at HBO Max have impacted us, certainly).
Great job, David Zaslav! Terrific work threatening your golden goose. You are really good at this, buddy.
So, 2023 is off to a shit start. After assuring Rolling Stone that he WOULD be drinking on New Year’s Eve this year and that CNN’s ban on getting lit only applied to CNN’s correspondents, Andy Cohen has told Page Six that actually he and Anderson Cooper will be staying sober. This is some bullshit. Literally no one watches CNN on New Year’s Eve to watch sober people. We can tune in to ABC for that.

Give the people what they want and what they want is Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen throwing back shots as the clock strikes 9pm

New Year’s Day is meant for one thing and one thing only: lying half-awake on the couch, nursing a hangover, and watching TV. If you don’t feel like watching football (I know, all red-blooded Americans will only be watching football), here are some marathons to indulge in.
This is a nice little roundup of the streamers and what their plans for 2023 are.
The most pirated shows of 2022 are all the biggest “nerd” shows of the year.
Collider also has a list of 11 TV shows that “sadly” ended this year, and I have to say, I disagree with literally all of them. These are all shows that (with the exception of Westworld) ended on their own terms and at the right time. And some of these shows — like The Walking Dead — should have ended years ago.
Here’s my list of 20 shows that actually “sadly” ended this year (in no particular order):
- Archive 81
- Raised by Wolves
- Close Enough
- Minx
- Mr. Mayor
- Made for Love
- Legendary
- Gentleman Jack
- Rutherford Falls
- Full Frontal with Samantha Bee
- Desus & Mero
- Paper Girls
- FBoy Island
- Moonhaven
- Tuca & Bertie
- The Midnight Club
- Los Espookys
- Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy
- First Kill
- The Wilds
- Gordita Chronicles
- Becoming Elizabeth
Adios, shows. You deserved better. DAVID ZASLAV, YOU ARE STILL ON MY LIST.
As for the rest of you, Happy New Year, friends! I hope you have a lovely celebration and I’ll see you next year.
In Development
- They F**k You Up, a parenting dramedy directed by Peter Capaldi is in the works at Sky. (You should check out the Philip Larkin poem the title is from.)
- This is not yet in the works but the creators of Wednesday want to make a series about a young Miss Marple, and based on the success of Wednesday, I’m sure someone will let them make it happen.
