‘The Boys’ has been renewed for season four, obviously.

Big brothers, amirite?

The Boys has, officially, been renewed for a fourth season at Prime Video. The news broke unofficially yesterday, when someone noticed a listing in Production Weekly saying that the fourth season was in “active development.” Amazon clearly wanted to make the announcement today, a Friday, as this is the day new episodes drop.

It’s no surprise the show was renewed — reportedly, viewership is up 17% from the second season, and — somewhat amazingly — was nominated for six Emmys including best drama last year.

In celebration of a fourth season, here are a bunch of Boys articles I have been sitting on all week to give all of y’all a chance to catch up with the first three insane episodes. As such, all of these links, including the headlines in some cases are spoilers.

First of all, that very first scene of the first episode features a pretty big cameo by a star who also made an appearance in a real recent superhero movie. It’s genius, and apparently, the star was very game about doing it.

But that scene is followed by one of the most hilariously gory and outrageous things ever committed to film. Yes, the set is real: it was 11 feet tall and 30 feet long. And Amazon was cool with the scene — on one condition. Here’s an Instagram shot of the actor and his body double in front of the … set.

While showrunner (and former Supernatural showrunner) Eric Kripke would love for Jared Padalecki to be on The Boys, don’t hold your breath. Look, I’d just be happy for a scene with Jensen Ackles and Jim Beaver this season.

Here’s Jensen Ackles humblebragging about having to beef up for the role of Soldier Boy.

Blondie is a fan:

And then there’s The Deep, who, despite being a rapist, is shaping up to be sympathetic this season, especially after what Homelander made him do. R.I.P. Timothy.

PETA, you’ll be surprised to hear, actually approves of that scene. No, really.

In other non-The Boys news, Chris Stirewalt, a former Fox News political editor who was fired in January 2021, has said he has been called to testify in front of the January 6th commission on Monday. He hasn’t said what he will be testifying about, but the commission has already said that on Monday they will explore how Former President Dingus spread his false election claims through the media. Get the popcorn.

And another person is mad at HBO Max’s The Staircase.

Here’s Matt James complaining that The Bachelor turned his relationship with Rachel into a circus. Oh, honey. That’s just being on The Bachelor. He also shares some much more legitimate criticisms about how the show missed an opportunity to really talk about race.

HBO has released an early image of the upcoming The Last of Us series.

British drama academy the Guildhall School has apologized to Michaela Coel and Paapa Essiedu over shockingly racist incidents that happened to them while they were students.

Bo Burnham: Inside; Summer of Soul; and The Underground Railroad are among the next round of Peabody Award winners.

Yay for Rebel Wilson!
