The White House Correspondents’ Dinner re-do was this weekend, and it was, from all reports, a disaster. President Bloviator delivered a hour-long speech filled with jokes that utterly bombed — so badly, in fact, even he couldn’t ignore it.

After one clanger about an elderly U.S. senator’s sex life drew crickets, Trump asked, “Does anybody get that? I thought that was actually great. That was actually the only thing I thought was good in this whole frickin’ stupid speech. It was the only good one, and that went down with not exactly great laughter.”

He also made Chris Christie fat jokes, bitched about Rosie O’Donnell and Bruce Springsteen, and attacked CNN’s Kaitlan Collins for not smiling more and comparing her to trans performer Dylan Mulvaney. Mulvaney responded today with grace and class.

There was an amazing moment when Wolf Blitzer gave the Wall Street Journal journalists who reported on President Pee-Tape’s relationship to Jeffrey Epstein an award, and he just had to take it:

Oh, and he wore a Trump 2028 hat because of course he did. Let’s hope fate runs its course long before that.

The Paramount/Warner Bros. Discovery merger has been put on pause until at least June 2027. Things could become very costly for Paramount, which has agreed to pay Warner Bros. shareholders $650 million per quarter the merger isn’t in effect beginning in October. Additionally, the merger is set to expire altogether if it is not finalized by June 4, 2027, so fingers crossed this thing drags on for a while.

Alan Cumming, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Benedict Wong have written a letter explaining why this merger is A Bad Thing. Also, SAG-AFTRA is against it. (Took them long enough, though.)

John Oliver is taking on Buc-ee’s! This is actually genius.

Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson are putting together a comedy benefit for 9/11 charities in honor of the 25th anniversary of that terrible day. Ironically, some of the performers (including Davidson) took that Saudi Arabian money not that long ago.

I do hope Kristen Storms’ life calms down for her sake and her daughter’s, and I hope she finds some peace in the wake of all of this, and is able to return to General Hospital soon. But it must be so frustrating to be an actor on a soap opera whose character is so tied to another character that another actor’s personal life could have such a huge impact on your career.
