Will Hulu be the big winner in the Netflix/Marvel divorce?

The head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb, wrote an open letter to the fans following the cancelation of the remaining Netflix Marvel titles, Jessica Jones and The Punisher. As for the future of the Marvel series that once ran on Netflix, there’s a good argument that they may end up over on Hulu rather than Disney+, as Disney will soon own a controlling share of Hulu and they are going to want to keep Disney+ family-friendly. It’s a natural fit, and Hulu is not denying the possibility. All that said, nothing will happen soon, as the contract between Netflix and Marvel states that no Marvel characters (who were featured in Netflix series) can appear on a non-Netflix platform until two years after cancelation.

Somehow this got buried and I forgot to mention it last week, but it looks like Apple’s streaming service will launch in April or May.

There was briefly a threat that The Newsroom was going to be rebooted, but then Aaron Sorkin assured a nervous nation last night that it’s not going to happen. I don’t know that I’ve ever said this before, but THANK YOU, AARON SORKIN.

This is a piece speculating on whether or not Colton will lose his virginity on The Bachelor (TL;DR: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), but the best thing in the piece is the quote from Tia at the end: “‘I don’t think he [loses his virginity],’ she said when chatting with Entertainment Tonight on February 12. ‘I think he’s going to wait for f***ing ever. Just to say that he did.'” No bitterness there!

A video about the unsung heroes of Saturday Night Live: the cue card guys. This is actually so much more interesting than you think:

Time’s Up

A grand jury has been seated to look into R. Kelly allegations. Good.

Here’s how bad Harvey Weinstein was: Lena Headey recently gave an interview where she opened up about how she thinks rejecting that pig may have set her career back a decade, and I was like, “WAIT, LENA HEADEY WAS HARASSED BY HARVEY WEINSTEIN??” before remembering that I totally wrote about Lena Headey being harassed by Harvey Weinstein. Because that’s how many women Harvey Weinstein harassed, that I’ve forgotten about women — famous women! women I admire! — Harvey Weinstein has harassed.

Matt Smith compared being a straight actor playing a gay role to playing a heroin addict and while I get his point, I don’t know that indirectly comparing being gay to being a heroin addict is the best look here.

Mandy Moore opened up some more about her deeply unhealthy marriage to Ryan Adams.

I keep thinking that it’s been officially declared that Cosmos has been delayed and yet here we are with yet another “official” announcement.
