Bill O’Reilly remains an asshole, albeit an honest asshole.

Let’s begin this hard day with this little gem: Though he’s not a television personality any longer (a fact that continues to give me great joy), I think it’s important to note that slimy shitheel Bill O’Reilly posted a statement saying that the Las Vegas massacre, that those 59 deaths and 500+ injuries are just “the price of freedom.”

I suppose this answers my question from yesterday, as to how many deaths will be required before the Right is willing to have a conversation about reasonable gun control measures that the majority of Americans actually want, like universal background checks, a national gun registry, and a ban on assault weapons. The answer is, very plainly, there is no number of deaths that will bring the Right to the conversation. Death by gun violence is, according to Bill O’Reilly, just to be accepted as our new normal.

But hey, at least he’s being honest. At least he’s saying what the rest of the Right actually believes but will never say out loud because it reveals how empty and callous they are. So recognize O’Reilly’s statement for what it is: an explicit declaration that the Right values their guns, their fetishized phallic symbols of death more than they value your life. And they always will.

And vote accordingly, dammit.

Sean Hannity’s interview with Donald Trump has been canceled in the wake of the shooting, and though Fox News won’t say if it’ll be rescheduled, don’t worry, it will definitely be rescheduled.

CBS fired one of their legal executives after she said in a Facebook comment that she didn’t sympathize with the victims of the shooting because “country music fans often are Republican gun-toters.” YIKES, NO, DON’T SAY THINGS LIKE THAT, YOU IDIOT.

TRL‘s premiere featured an anti-gun PSA yesterday. Good. (However, the rest of the show was apparently a hot mess.)

Mariah Carey appeared on Good Morning Britain and Piers Morgan broke the news to her about the Las Vegas shooting, which she clearly knew nothing about. But a couple of things to note: 1. Just look at how she is lounging on the couch for this interview! Classic Mariah. But 2. WHY DOES SHE HAVE A CHRISTMAS TREE UP? GIRL, IT IS OCTOBER 2.

The CW is pulling their iHeartRadio specials that were supposed to air this week — which reminds me, I have some schedules to go fix …

Bethenny Frankel is good people.

If you were wondering, the actress who played Andrea on The Walking Dead still thinks what the showrunners did to her character was bullshit. She is not wrong.

This is an interesting piece on what movie screenwriters are learning from peak TV.
