Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
ABC has filed a response to the FCC’s attack on The View, arguing that it IS a news show with a “broad and cross-ideological consensus of commenters” and that the FCC is singling them out because the administration doesn’t like it. “The First Amendment does not permit the government to sit in an editor’s chair. Yet that is the seat the Commission now proposes to take— deciding which broadcast programs qualify as legitimate news and, for those it finds wanting, compelling them to surrender their airtime to guests they never chose to feature.”
The FCC’s response is, “Look, all we’re asking is that you give candidates equal time,” but when races are loaded with multiple candidates, such a request is sometimes impossible. We’ll see where all this goes.
So maybe Ryan and the rest of us won’t be watching the wedding on a streaming service at all?
Former Bachelor Peter Weber is BIG MAD about that producer’s book telling all about their relationship.
Roma Roth is stepping down as showrunner of Sullivan’s Crossing after four seasons, and rumors of an unharmonious set. Scott Patterson left the series last season, and a fifth season remains in the air.
The World Cup game in which the US Men’s team had their asses handed to them by Belgium was the most-watched soccer game in US history, with some 30 million tuning in, and as many as 36.9 million.
An early look at Comics Unleashed, the late night show that replaced The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, seems to suggest that it’s operating exactly as it was intended to: to be a cheap replacement that held on to some small portion of live viewers.
Joe Rogan continues to be the worst.
WELL, THAT’S SCARY, KATIE COURIC. Glad you’re OK, but seriously, this is something out of a soap opera.
He’s brain dead, right? He has to be, right? That or dead dead. Either way, shit’s weird.
