Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

It’s confirmed: the Stranger Things series finale will be shown in movie theaters on December 31, for one (1) day, so make your plans and anticipate buying tickets early. The finale will premiere on Netflix at the same time. Personally, I don’t care about seeing anything in a theater anymore. My couch is far more comfortable, and I like to be able to pause things to get my snacks. But y’all do you.

According to Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart nearly had his job at ABC, but Kimmel was cheaper. (He thinks ABC should have gone with Stewart.)

Speaking of Jimmy Kimmel, the head of Sinclair is out here lying about him and what he said about Charlie Kirk.

The Gen V finale was changed by the real-life death of Chance Perdomo. (Spoilers, obviously.) As for whether there will be a third season? It all depends on people watching this season right now, according to Eric Kripke.

The Tracker guys are hoping to make a spin-off series for Jensen Ackles, who, it should be noted, is currently busy with The Boys‘ spinoff, Vought Rising.

Wait … does Sparkle Megan have a baby?!? (Spoilers for Love is Blind, if you have no idea what I’m going on about.)

Someone should tell that Shark Tank idiot, Kevin O’Leary, that the budget for extras in movies does not make up 49.5% of a film’s overall cost.

You can now let HBO Max know how you feel.

Amazon MGM paid a lot less for James Bond than you think. (That’s before earnouts, stock options, and bonuses, though.)

I’m going to need to know who these 60 “journalists” are who signed the Pentagon’s new press restrictions. Because when Fox News, Newsmax, and The Washington Times think you’ve gone too far, I’m guessing these “journalists” are a bunch of Twitter trolls and Hegseth’s cousins.

Gen Z would like y’all to tone it down with the sex and romance in their movies and TV shows.

Some television lore for you: the man in this video below is the inspiration for Homer Simpson, according to Matt Groening:

“I’ve never mentioned the original inspiration for Homer Simpson, and it was from a 1982 documentary on PBS. It was part of the Middletown series about Muncie, Indiana. And one of the episodes was called Family Business, and it was about a guy who had a Shakey’s Pizza franchise, and he was going nuts.

“He couldn’t make his monthly due. And it was just about him trying to make pizza and have the straw hat on and playing the piano and running around and stuff. And he had his kids working there.

“And his kids loved him, but he didn’t have enough money to pay his kids. And one moment in the documentary, the kids just can’t take it, and they go to a movie instead of coming to work. And he’s there by himself, and of course the camera crew is there documenting this guy going crazy.

“And I thought, this is a man, a sweet man who’s getting kicked in the ass by life. I want to write about that. And that’s where Homer came from.”

Renewals

  • House Hunters has been renewed through 2026 at HGTV and I have no idea what season it will be. 263?
  • House Hunters International has also been renewed through HGTV and, again, no idea what season it will be. Possibly 203.
  • Next Gen NYC has been renewed for a second season on Bravo. At least that’s straightforward.
