Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

HBO Max just raised its prices. This is directly related to the news that, yes, Warner Bros. is officially on the market. Which … just … great. There’s no chance this doesn’t end in another media corporate merger, possibly with Paramount, which has already made one offer, less likely, with Comcast or Netflix. In any event, they’ll need the FCC’s approval, so watch your back, John Oliver.

Channel 4 aired a documentary about AI that was hosted by an AI presenter, so that’s … not great.

Ew, Gayle. No.

Speaking of Jesse Watters: his mom attended the No Kings protest. True story: Watters’ father was a teacher at my husband’s Quaker school in Philadelphia, and where Watters himself also attended (and which was also the inspiration for the school in The Goldbergs and Schooled). His parents are Democrats, the school itself is pretty liberal-leaning, and Watters clearly learned nothing.

Congratulations to the best Love is Blind couple, Lauren and Cameron, and baby Ezra!

Love is dead.

Virginia Giuffre, one of the women who accused Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell of trafficking her, specifically to Prince Andrew, has a memoir coming out today, published posthumously. Here is an excerpt detailing how she met Maxwell at Mar-A-Lago, and brought into Epstein’s orbit.

The memoir is expected to be so damaging to Prince Andrew’s reputation that the King is stripping him of he is giving up his “Duke of York” title. As this piece points out, that’s hardly a punishment for what he’s been accused of.

And then there’s Sarah Ferguson, who took tens of thousands of dollars from Epstein, and was one of the first to celebrate his release from prison, bringing her two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, to see him. WHAT.

Giuffre also accused an unnamed former Prime Minister of an unidentified country of choking and beating her.

Denise Richards’ soon-to-be ex-husband, Aaron Phypers, was arrested in court last week, “charged with two felony counts of injuring a spouse and two felony counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat.”

Kristen Bell posted an anniversary tribute to her husband on Instagram with a caption talking about how Dax Shepard joked about killing her, and people were like “First of all, no, but second of all, DURING DOMESTIC ABUSE AWARENESS MONTH, KRISTEN?”

A French producing couple, Thierry Lounas and Claire Bonnefoy, have been accused of sexual harassment and predatory behavior by a number of current and former female employees.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, you can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673), which routes the caller to their nearest sexual assault service provider. You can also search for your local center here.
