Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

WE CAN ALL RELAX: As of today, Max has returned to being known as HBO Max.

As you might remember, in one of the dumbest self-inflicted wounds of all time, HBO Max (which the old-timers will remember was originally two different streaming platforms: HBO Go and HBO Now) became “Max” when the new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav, thought he could strip away HBO content from the platform, dump a bunch of reality TV crap from Discovery on it, and this would somehow turn the streamer into another Netflix. It didn’t work out that way because UH DUH, people love HBO.

Anyway. Today they officially put the “HBO” back in the name to remind people that it has the good stuff they’re looking for. Let’s hope they JUST LEAVE IT ALONE FROM HERE.

This is a loving tribute to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the longest-running sitcom of all time, despite being about the worst people you’ll never meet. It returns tonight on FXX, and not a moment too soon.

The show has been going on so long that Glenn Howerton very nearly quit around season 12, believing that the show had “peaked.” 17 seasons on, joke’s on him.

Speaking of, these are the worst things each of their characters has done on Sunny, according to the actors themselves.

As for what can be expected this season of Sunny, there’s not just the Abbott Elementary crossover, there’s also a Golden Bachelor crossover that is so outrageous, Jesse Palmer called the ABC executives to make sure it had really been greenlit. And honestly? At this point Frank would make a much better Golden Bachelor than this Mel Owens jackass.

The Television Critics Association Award nominations are out, and once again, it’s a pretty great list.

Will Carmy explore his artistic side in the next season of The Bear? I guess it’s a possibility.

This is some primo Ramona Singer behavior right here.

This will certainly shock you, but the Biden FTC rule designed to protect consumers by making it hard to cancel your subscriptions to streaming services is unlikely to go into effect.

In a stunning development, a 20-year-old show has become predictable.

There are some cast shakeups over at GMA3: both Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan are leaving. So Daytime Confidential is asking the important questions: Should GMA3 just be completely replaced with a new soap opera? It’s actually a fair point (even if it is from a clearly biased source), as Beyond the Gate, CBS’s new soap opera is performing quite well, and much better than The Talk which it replaced. All that said, my answer is a little complicated: yes, they should replace GMA3 with a soap, but not with a new soap, but instead with a revival of All My Children or One Life to Live, since they have the rights again.

Over on Twitter, things are getting somehow darker. Right, so, Elon Musk was upset that his A.I. bot, Grok, was giving Twitter users answers to questions that didn’t align with his batshit right-wing political ideologies, and criticizing some of Musk’s own actions. So Musk vowed to “fix” Grok by “turning down the ‘woke’ filters,” and now Grok has gone full Nazi. Literally, Grok is out here extolling Hitler, the Holocaust and Nazism, and calling itself, “MechaHitler.” So I guess Elon wasn’t just saying, “my heart goes out to you” after all.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino has turned in her resignation. Surprisingly, she was still the CEO of Twitter. The Writers Guild East has also announced they are leaving the platform over MechaHitler, and again, the only surprise here is that they were still using Twitter.

I’m glad to hear that Manuel Masalva is on the mend.

Oh no, heal quickly, Jean Smart!

Love is dead.
