The fires in California continue to take a horrific toll throughout Hollywood

Zoo animals enjoying the snow because you need this today:

❄️ It’s a snow day!!!! ❄️ The Zoo is closed January 5 & 6 due to weather, but the members of the animal care, maintenance and horticulture teams are staying overnight at the Zoo to care for the animals! Many of the animals like Rozi, Kris, Otis, ducks, Zola, Caspian and the elephants explored the snow outside with their care team nearby before heading back inside to their warm beds! #snow #snowday #winter #funnyanimals #animalsoftiktok

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The fires in Southern California rage on, leaving thousands of people homeless and displaced. And not that it matters more when celebrities lose their homes — but it does remind us that when it comes to natural disasters, we’re all vulnerable. When you see this list of celebrities who have lost their homes to the fires, please keep in your thoughts all the other non-famous people who have also lost their homes to this horrific event:

  • Billy Crystal: “Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this. We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders. The Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of amazing people and we know in time it will rise again. It is our home.”
  • Mandy Moore: “This is Altadena. Leveled. My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb.”
  • Melissa Rivers: “In my personal situation, that’s it, that’s the end of everything that belonged to my family and the history of it. To be 100 percent honest, I grabbed my mom’s Emmy, a photo of my dad, and a drawing that my mother had done of me and my son.”
  • John Goodman
  • Paris Hilton: “Heartbroken beyond words. Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”
  • Anna Farris: “Anna and her family are safe and grateful.”
  • Adam Brody and Leighton Meester
  • Cary Elwes: “Sadly, we did lose our home but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire. Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the firefighters, first responders and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”
  • Emily Procter: “And I’m so grateful to have survived — it is my home. It is my neighborhood. It is my community. And so when you see it burn, it’s not the things … The things on those level have been survivable. But what we mourn is our lives.”
  • Eugene Levy
  • Diane Warren: “This is the last pic I took of Leah’s rock from my beach house. I’ve had this house for almost 30 years. It looks like it was lost in the fire last nite. There’s a rainbow shining on it which I’m taking as a sign of hope for all creatures who have been affected by this tragedy.”
  • Cameron Mathison: “We are safe but this is what’s left of our beautiful home. Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday.”
  • James Woods: “One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone.”
  • Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

  • Ricki Lake: “It’s all gone. I can’t believe I am typing these words. After a valiant and brave effort by our friend and hero @kirbykotler_ Ross and I lost our dream home.”
  • Jennifer Love Hewitt: “I have no words. Only prayers and holding as much hope as I can for our home and our kids while we watch everything burn.”

Elsewhere, Hollywood has shut down in the face of this fire. Shows that have paused tapings include:

Additionally: The Oscar nominations announcement has been pushed back to January 19 and voting will be extended; The Critics Choice Awards has been pushed back to January 26; Universal Studios Hollywood closed for the first time since COVID.

General Hospital put a trigger warning on yesterday’s episode that involved (spoiler alert) a character being caught on fire; and Fire Country has been pulled from this week’s schedule.

And of course, Former President Orange Menace-Elect is out there trying to politicize this, but he can take all the fucking seats.

After canceling the livestream announcement of the SAG Award nominations, the organization released the nominees via press release. On the TV side, Shōgun, The Diplomat, and The Bear are the big players. You can read all the nominees here. I am sure there will be other people with their thoughts on surprises and snubs, but the one that stands out to me is Javier Bardem being nominated for Monsters: The Lyle and Eric Menendez Story, but not Cooper Koch, if only for episode 5.

The Emmys have tweaked their rules so that actors who have been nominated for their roles as leads or supporting actors can not be nominated in later seasons for a guest role. Additionally, directors are now allowed to submit multiple entries, as long as they are from different series.

Jenn Tran says she wouldn’t have dated ANY of the men on her season of The Bachelorette had she been able to look them up online ahead of filming. 1. Good for you, Jenn. 2. ARE YOU LISTENING, ABC CASTING DEPARTMENT?

The Today folks are trying to emotionally destroy Hoda Kotb before she leaves on Friday. First, they have her former crush Blake Shelton come on and tell her that she basically missed her shot with him and then they bring on the family of a victim of breast cancer with whom she bonded on the show? LEAVE HODA ALONE.

If you enjoyed last night’s Abbott Elementary crossover episode, do not — let me repeat — DO NOT watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with the whole family, I beg you.

Speaking of that crossover, they had to cut for time a whole backstory between Frank and Mr. Johnson, which is just a damn shame.

After having a meltdown at an airport Jersey Mike’s — and who hasn’t been there, amirite? — Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Jennifer Aydin has been kicked off of a Housewives-themed cruise, which oh my god, there are Housewives-themed cruises? Well, I know how my eternity in Hell will be spent.

Meanwhile, the future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is more up in the air than ever.

Relive all the cringiest moments from Love is Blind — which is truly saying something.

Sounds like I missed a lot on Andy and Anderson’s New Year’s Eve coverage.

RuPaul has commented perfectly on the Tyra Sanchez/The Vivienne controversy.

Love is dead.

Or not — two child actors who met on School of Rock got married (as adults — let me be clear) so that’s something happy in this shitty year.
