The Golden Globes continues its long reign of chaos

I am back after a needed winter break, a little bit older and a lot sadder after the terrible New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans, and an unexpected personal loss. I didn’t want to open 2025 on such a sad note, but it also didn’t feel right to not acknowledge the heartbreak and loss in one of our most beautiful cities, to just pretend it didn’t happen. It did happen, and I can only hope that the victims, their loved ones and the nation find healing and peace. Here’s hoping the rest of the year provides positivity and light instead of this darkness, and that we all make it through a little bit stronger.

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Here are all the winners of last night’s Golden Globes. Big night for Shōgun, Baby Reindeer and Hacks, in a replay of last year’s Emmys. Before we move on, what on earth is the prize for “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award?” Wicked won, despite being only the third-highest-grossing film of the year, so … what the actual fuck does this prize mean?

Nikki Glaser was a solid Globes host with plenty of good barbs:

And here are all the moments — good and bad — that people are talking about.

The Globes also served up “fun facts” about the stars.

Wondering what Seth Rogan said that was bleeped?

And what was this? Some people think this is Vin Diesel and The Rock “burying the hatchet” but … yeah, I don’t think so, not at all.

This encounter was so awkward between Vin Diesel and The Rock #GoldenGlobes

“Jeremy Strong Won the 2025 Golden Globes Carpet With a Velvet Bucket Hat” — OK, but did he though?

Why are streaming shows’ seasons becoming shorter? For lots of reasons! (The streamers are demanding cutbacks to save money.)

There will be a tribute to the Dowager Countess in the upcoming Downton Abbey film.

There are no hard feelings between the creator of Desperate Housewives and the Real Housewives folks.

Another reality star learns that breaking the fourth wall is not a magic trick to keep their bad behavior from airing.

If you’ve got $4 million laying around and want a place in Albuquerque, I’ve got just the house for you.

Someone is desperate for attention again. Where’s your show “helping bring fresh food to food deserts in low income neighborhoods,’ Meghan?

Dammit, Joshua Jackson. We all know you’re making Ryan Murphy money now, go pay your ex-wife.

Gross. I mean, “congrats.”

FOR REAL CONGRATS!

Congratulations, Karen Gillan!
