Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Look, I know that this story about couples who met on Dancing With the Stars was published because the dancing competition returned last night, but it’s A LITTLE BIT CRINGE considering the Nikki Garcia/Artem Chigvinstev story that is happening right now, considering that’s how they met. ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM, Y’ALL.
ABC and Warner Bros. Discovery are out here claiming that Devin Strader slipped through their vetting process because the restraining order against him was sealed, and yeah, OK, but his conviction for burglary wasn’t, so …. ???
The 2017 restraining order was sealed, which explains why it would not have appeared in a background check. But the burglary arrest affidavit is public record, meaning production would have been able to access it.
Sources also told Deadline that Strader’s arrest was flagged and he was questioned about the trespassing charge but gave a different explanation for it.
It’s not clear whether production requested the arrest affidavit from the Baton Rouge police, though it would appear not considering that the document does reference the protective order and give details on the circumstances of the arrest.
WHAT GIVES? If you see a burglary and trespassing charge on someone’s record, MAYBE DO A LITTLE MORE DIGGING and DON’T JUST TAKE WHATEVER BULLSHIT STORY HE COMES UP WITH. My God. It’s almost as if they knew he was a walking red flag and that’s exactly why they cast him.
Meet your three new SNL cast members.

Gavin Newsom has signed a California bill that gives performers and their estates greater control over the use of their likeness. In the age of A.I., this is hugely important.
Chris Cuomo is looking for attention again.
Piers Morgan is looking for attention again.
And just let me say, when Democrats call Former President January 6th an existential threat to democracy who has promised to be a dictator on day one, that is not “dangerous rhetoric,” they are just repeating what he himself has said. You know what is dangerous rhetoric? Telling people that immigrants want to eat your pets* and Democrats want to kill your babies and give your children transgender operations at school. That shit literally leads to bomb threats. So please get out of my face with this nonsense that it is somehow the Democrats’ fault that two Republicans made assassination attempts on Former President Charlottesville.
@andy_riddle Happens everytime…
*FURTHERMORE, when Vance’s team was pressed on this whole cat-eating story, they produced a single police report in which some MAGA loon called the cops because her cat was missing and she immediately assumed her Haitian neighbors ate it. The Wall Street Journal actually followed up with this woman — which apparently the Vance team did not do — and it turns out THE CAT WAS HIDING FROM HER IN HER BASEMENT THE ENTIRE TIME.
AND, HONESTLY, WHO COULD BLAME THE CAT?

And yet, these two assholes are still out there insisting the pet-eating story is true and refusing to acknowledge that the perpetuation of this ABSOLUTE LIE is resulting in an entire town being terrorized by right-wing lunatics. I FEEL LIKE I’M LOSING MY MIND.
ARE YOU REGISTERED? Sorry for screaming but I’m a LITTLE BIT WORKED UP. (And remember: Texas does not have online registrations. Print that shit out and put it in the mail or go to a library and fill one out and drop it off there.)
