Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The upcoming Fox series, Murder in a Small Town, was originally developed with star Rossif Sutherland’s father, Donald, in mind. Also: Donald Sutherland has sons other than Keifer.

I noted the other day that TNT had picked up two new dramas after having cleared the network’s schedule of scripted series a couple of years ago when Warner Bros. Discovery took over. It now makes more sense: WBD had planned to strip TNT of original programming and turn it into a hub for live games — mostly NBA games — and reruns. Which is, I suppose, a plan.

But if it IS your plan, maybe don’t: 1. Go around saying that you don’t need the NBA, 2. Woefully underbid for the rights of the NBA, especially when the contract is up and they have several choices for new homes, and then 3. Realize that the NBA isn’t going to take your shitty offer, and return with an equal offer to what some other network made, only to be rejected by the NBA because, fuck you, that’s why.  WBD is now suing the NBA for not taking their matching offer but, I don’t know, it feels like this is how competition is supposed to work in a capitalist system. So now TNT has to fill the air with something other than profitable live sports and are gingerly returning to the world of scripted drama, which they so brazenly abandoned not all that long ago. Great job once again, David Zaslav, you dumb asshole!

Wait … Yellowstone might be renewed? Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are reportedly in talks to sign for a 6th, Costner-less season, which is both surprising and not at all. What: Paramount is going to kill their biggest cash cow just because Kevin Costner didn’t want to be on it anymore? Come on.

Oh hold up, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams are fighting?! OVER HIM?! Come on now.

Speaking of complicated co-worker relationships, Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green didn’t speak for nearly 20 years.

Team J-Lo goes on offense. (And, I mean, Affleck dating Kick Kennedy is … not a great development.)

Get better quickly, Vicki Gunvalson!

My heart goes out to Mariah Carey who lost her mother and her sister on the same day. I can not even begin to imagine her grief. May she and her family find peace.

#MeToo

When even Jeanine Pirro is disgusted with your comment:

Francis Ford Coppola is out here saying that the allegations against him made by crew members on the set of Megalopolis are just a plot to “damage” the film. And … OK, but … to what end? Additionally, he is all proud of casting a bunch of “canceled” actors and so it’s like, I don’t know, my dude, maybe you’re the one creating the problem and screaming for attention. Look, cast who you want, but unless you are actively casting the actor that you think is legitimately best for the role, casting someone simply because they have been “canceled” is as political a move as not casting that actor for the same reason. It’s all part of the same continuum.

And can I just add that I am so fucking tired of 80-year-old men being OUTRAGED! and VICTIMIZED! because their bad behavior is no longer tolerated, no matter how brilliant and talented they are?

Actress Adele Heather Taylor has accused estranged husband, screenwriter Roberto Orcí, of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Oh, hey, another BBC news presenter has been accused of inappropriate behavior. Former football player Jermaine Jenas has been fired after sending inappropriate texts to women, and he says he’s sorry, but claims he’s not a “sex pest.”

I don’t disagree with Meghan McCain that Blake Lively did not handle the issue of domestic violence with the seriousness and sensitivity that it deserves, but John McCain’s daughter needs to be careful when she’s out here asking why certain people are famous. MA’AM.
