Kevin Hart doesn’t even want to host your awards shows SO DON’T ASK.

Stay warm this weekend and next week, everyone!

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Because we are in the thick of awards season, we’re going to be hearing a lot of takes on the issue of comedians hosting the shows and what it all means and blah blah blah.

Kevin Hart says he won’t ever host the Oscars or any awards show because they’re not “comedy-friendly environments anymore.”

He went on to blame the audience:

“Shout out to those that have cracked the code and done it right early on, you know, the Chris Rocks of the world, the Billy Crystals of the world, the girls we’ve had like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler. Ricky Gervais. There’s a lot of people that understand that if you’re not an industry comic, meaning a comic that has the relationships of all, then those rooms are very cold. So, me doing it is, of course, at an advantage, because I know the room and for me, and familiar with so many. But, for others it’s not the same,” Hart said.

“It’s not the gig that it was of old. It’s too much pressure on the idea of a comic and what’s jokes and not jokes. So, it’s tough,” Hart added.

I don’t know, this sounds to me like another middle-aged male comedian complaining that it’s the audience’s fault they aren’t laughing instead of the comedian just not being funny. A good comedian can make any audience laugh, not just their fans.

For instance, John Mulaney somehow managed to make an entire room of Hollywood muckety-mucks laugh at the Governor’s Awards earlier this week, exactly the type of room that Kevin Hart says is not “comedy-friendly.” Just sign Mulaney up to host everything already.

And then there’s Jo Koy: he’s sorry for blaming the writers for his jokes bombing, but does not acknowledge that the Barbie joke was just bad, immature, and insulting to the movie and its message as a whole. What is missing from the quote in the tweet below is the last sentence: “I’m telling a joke — what happened to society where we can’t even joke with each other anymore?”

AH YES, IT IS OUR FAULT THAT WE HAVE MOVED ON AS A SOCIETY FROM LAUGHING AT THE WORD “BOOBIES.” THAT’S THE PROBLEM.

Meanwhile, non-stand-up comedian Simu Liu is set to host the People’s Choice Awards:

A reminder: The Emmys will air on Fox on Monday (actor Anthony Anderson will host), and there will be a number of cast reunions, including The Sopranos, Cheers, Ally McBeal, and Martin.

Speaking of the Emmys, apparently, ESPN won a bunch of Emmys using fake names for show hosts who were ineligible in certain categories (it’s a rule to prevent on-air talent from winning two Emmys for the same material). Then, when ESPN would win said Emmys, they would replace the “fraudulent nameplates and had the statues engraved anew so they could be given to on-air staff.”

And in other shady ESPN news: One day after The Pat McAfee Show said Aaron Rodgers would not be returning, guess who was on their show? The fuck is going on, ESPN?

The NFL Playoffs begin this weekend, and one game will only be available on Peacock, and a lot of people, including this Congressman, are super pissed about it:

Someone please put Emma Stone on Jeopardy!

NBC News is the latest media outlet to lay off a bunch of people.

An interesting bit of television history: Rod Serling was inspired to create The Twilight Zone because of his experience being censored while dramatizing the Emmett Till story.

Some former TomTom bartenders are suing Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd for wrongful termination and it has nothing to do with Scandoval somehow!
