Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
The Golden Globes were last night and the general consensus was … blerg. Host Jo Koy’s monologue was a complete disaster, attacking both Barbie and Taylor Swift … which really? In this Our Year of Beyonce, 2024? You’re going to tell THOSE jokes?
And this is why the film was made. There are still men out there who exist to tear down women and focus on the way they look rather than their accomplishments.
Can’t wait for Jo Koy’s apology where he claims it was ‘just a joke’. Disgusting and so unfunny. pic.twitter.com/cKigKdIzKu

Golden Globes host Jo Koy was called 'insufferable', 'reductive', 'sexist' and 'cheap' after joking that the Barbie movie 'is based on a plastic doll with big boobies' and that he hopes to 'finish Oppenheimer in 2025'
The celebrity crowd booed himhttps://t.co/kmJCvb3zOL

Taylor Swift takes a sip of her drink after Jo Koy's joke about her at the #GoldenGlobes.

Golden Globes host Jo Koy just went off-script after one of his jokes bombed: “I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me, right? Slow down. I wrote some of these, and they’re the ones you’re laughing at.”#GoldenGlobes2024 pic.twitter.com/K6DIDtdCes

As for the prizes themselves, you know … it’s all meaningless noise, utimately. Yay for Beef, and for Ali Wong and Steven Yeun. And yay for Lily Gladstone, all historic wins. The other big winners were hardly surprises: The Bear and Succession practically ran the table, as did Oppenheimer. The only thing that was a minor surprise was that Barbie didn’t win more. Oh, and the stars kept thanking the wrong organization.
All that said, this is brilliant:
While presenting the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay, actors Daniel Kaluuya, Hailee Steinfeld, and Shameik Moore highlighted the importance of writers by pretending to read a teleprompter intro that was written by studio executives pic.twitter.com/2rBW9sshAq

If you want to look at pictures of celebrities wearing pretty clothes, here you go.
And here is Selena Gomez gossiping with Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry about how Kylie Jenner wouldn’t let her take a picture with Timothée Chalamet. Or at least that’s what the internet’s lip readers think is happening.
Reese Witherspoon confirms that she and Nicole Kidman are working on Big Little Lies season three.

The Creative Emmy Awards also happened this weekend and the biggest news from that is Nick Offerman winning an Emmy for his role as Bill on The Last of Us. (The Last of Us took home eight Emmys, in fact.) He says he’s up to telling more of Bill and Frank’s story, and while I would watch every minute of that, I don’t think they should mess with perfection. Another winner that I care about? Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy won its third consecutive Emmy. SUCK IT, DAVID ZASLAV.
Stranger Things is officially back in production for the fifth and final season.
Patrick J. Adams would like to do a Suits spinoff with Meghan Markle and I would like a billion dollars. Both are equally likely to happen.
This is devotion (h/t Boing Boing):
Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval still own a house together — but not for long if she has anything to do with it.
Mel B really doesn’t like James Corden.
Robert Kennedy Jr.’s super PAC announced that a bunch of stars would be attending his birthday fundraiser, including Martin Sheen, Dionne Warwick, Andrea Bocelli, and Mike Tyson, except, NOPE, none of those people will be attending because fuck that guy.
I don’t know anything about this event. I did not agree to it and I certainly won’t be there. https://t.co/h12mFFpdq6
