Not his fault. Door too small.

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Lost originally was going to end with a fight on an erupting volcano — a volcano that had been alluded to throughout the series — but they didn’t have the budget to make it happen. Frankly, I think a volcano is a much better ending than the bathtub plug nonsense, but if I’m honest with myself, I have to acknowledge that the special effects would have probably been terrible and distracting. OH WELL.
Speaking of alternate endings, Squid Game originally had a much happier, much more closed ending, one that wouldn’t be so easy to add a second season to.
Last night saw the series finale of the batshit insane Riverdale — at least for those of you who don’t have AT&T and therefore have had The CW blacked out for you for weeks now as they are in a dispute with Nexstar over carriage fees. ~shakes fist~ If you want to know how it all ended, the link has all of your spoilers. And I have to say, it was going to be hard to do, but they managed to outbonkers themselves, one last time.
Yesterday also saw the much-ballyhooed — but brief — return of Samantha on And Just Like That … if you want to know what happened there.
I’m not going to spend any time on last night’s Republican primary debate, because yawn. I will note that Former President Couldn’t Be Bothered claims that his interview with Tucker Carlson on Twitter had 180 million views, but as anyone with half a brain cell knows, what counts as a “view” on Twitter is pretty much anything, including posts you scroll past. So.
The only other thing that I will add is that Marjorie Taylor Greene, Dummy, Jr., and Matt Gaetz tried to go to the Fox News spin room following the debate to speak as Former President Beanbrain’s surrogates, but they weren’t allowed in and they were SO MAD ABOUT IT. But honestly, if he can’t be fucked to attend Fox News’ debate, why should Fox News allow his people to come into the media spin room for some unearned publicity?
So there’s this TV writer, Patty Lin, who has written a memoir, and in it, she talks about her time at Friends in the late years, and how dispiriting it was when the stars would deliberately tank jokes they didn’t like or advocate that their characters wouldn’t say certain lines. But it’s hard for me to feel sorry for the writer here? Because the actors had been doing this a lot longer than she had, she admits she’s not a comedy writer, and they clearly knew what worked and had been working to make them the biggest show on TV? I don’t know, but this is hardly the sob story I think she thinks it is.
Craig Mazin is cool with you doing a spinoff of The Last of Us — it just better not suck.
They’re going to add a CNN hub to Max with a 24/7 live stream of the network. And frankly, I wish other streamers would do this, and by “other streamers” I mean Peacock. Just add MSNBC to Peacock already, it would save us all a lot of time and aggravation.
Keep this man far from Drew Barrymore, for chrissakes.
