Hey, let’s all get REALLY ANGRY about a new ‘Snow White’ and pretend that this is very serious business

Not all heroes wear capes:

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The ABC affiliate in Washington D.C. opted to broadcast a preseason NFL game between Washington Commanders and the Baltimore Ravens instead of The Bachelorette finale. Because in this country, NFL football trumps everything else. And as much as I hate football, I have to admit that a Washington D.C. station would be foolish to not choose to broadcast a D.C./Baltimore game — they virtually have no choice.

These are very good questions no one will dare to ask any of the Republican Presidential primary candidates in tomorrow’s debate (or in any debate, frankly). I would add to this list some very pointed questions about abortion, including, “Do you believe a 12-year-old child should be forced to carry her rapist’s baby to term?” but then no one asked me.

Are you one of those weirdos who obsess about the costumes on And Just Like That … and hated Aiden’s jacket that I didn’t even notice but it made you SO ANGRY that you took to social media about it (no, I’m not kidding)?

Yeah, well, the costume designer is throwing John Corbett under the bus on this one, in case you were that invested.

Worst Cooks in America has been shut down (but not canceled) after the crew went on strike.

Heads up: Netflix is releasing a Love is Blind mobile game next month.

Well, this is interesting: Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican Presidential candidate and conspiracy theorist, is claiming that Newsmax tried to shake him down for more ad dollars in exchange for more coverage of his campaign.  Newsmax is denying this, duh.

You people need to leave Drew Barrymore alone. She’s a treasure.

#MeToo

H’oh boy, this whole Snow White mess. So, Disney is doing a live-action Snow White and they cast the lovely Rachel Zegler in the lead role. This first upset the racists, because she’s Latina, and then it upset the “anti-woke” warriors because she said her version of Snow White would be a leader and not waiting around for true love to come, and also that Prince Charming is a weird stalker. For some reason, the Telegraph decided to ask the 91-year-old son of the original director of the animated Snow White thinks about all of this, as if his opinion even fucking matters, and he said his father and Walt Disney would be “turning in their graves.”

“Their thoughts are just so radical now. They change the stories, they change the thought process of the characters. They’re making up new woke things and I’m just not into any of that. I find it quite frankly a bit insulting [what] they may have done with some of these classic films.”

First of all, the original animated film will continue to exist and people will be able to continue to watch it. Second of all, maybe a live-action Snow White being made in the year 2023 isn’t exactly being written for 91-year-old men? Maybe, sir, it doesn’t actually matter what you like or want to see? But also — and this is very important — everyone needs to sit down and breathe, y’all are getting worked up over absolutely nothing.

The bottom line is these live-action remakes are just money grabs on Disney’s part. If Snow White ends up being a quality movie that resonates with audiences and makes some girls and women feel empowered — like Barbie did this summer — then great! I’m sorry that hurts your dark, shriveled, anti-feminist feelings, but there are more of us than there are of you these days and Disney’s just trying to make a buck. But it’s more likely this movie will come out to a burble of controversy artificially manufactured by a handful of right-wing hucksters and then be forgotten within a week. Calm. Down.

NBC and Bravo reality stars are demanding to be released from their NDAs which their lawyers claim prohibit them from reporting unlawful behavior including “racism, sexism, sexual violence, revenge porn, child labor violations, forced intoxication, and psychological, emotional and physical abuse.”

Jennifer Aniston talks about making sure she had someone in her trailer with her when Harvey Weinstein pitched a movie to her, but also says she’s “so over cancel culture.” Girl.

Charlize Theron is awesome. “My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging…. People think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘Bitch, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.’”

Some of Lizzo’s backup dancers are coming to her defense.

Another BBC presenter, Stephen Nolan, is accused of misbehaving.

Bob the Drag Queen reveals that Howard Stern made crude comments about her during an unaired audition for America’s Got Talent, and while that’s gross and unkind, who, exactly, is surprised by this?

Remember how Keke Palmer’s boyfriend and baby daddy tried to shame her for going to an Usher concert and having a good time? Yeah, she got the last word:
