Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Netflix added almost 6 million new subscribers by shutting down password sharing, so be prepared for the other streamers to follow suit, goddammit. Still, it’s not enough to make Wall Street happy, so.
Bethenny Frankel is calling for reality stars to unionize and she’s not wrong.
Melanie Lynskey auditioned for Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and while obviously Alyson Hannigan is perfect in the role, Lynskey would have also killed it.
Wait, so A League of Their Own might not be canceled? From the head of Amazon Television, Vernon Sanders:
“I’m one of those people that believes that if magic happens and we get a great response, this doesn’t necessarily have to be the end. It will totally depend on how it performs and how the cast and creators all decide they want to revisit it if they do. So let’s hope we get that big audience.
Doing a big ensemble period piece, at the scale and level of Season One was both really gratifying but challenging. And we had a conversation with the producers about how can we bring that back but do it in a way that perhaps was a little more cost-constrained. And the producers came back to us and said, ‘What if we did it as a limited series?’ And we jumped at the chance and they’ve arced out something that we think is really dynamic. So I think the proof will be in the pudding.”
It sounds like if people actually watch the shortened second season, Prime Video might be open to making more, so be sure to stream it, guys. No news on when the second season will premiere yet.
Oh boy, we’re still talking about Jason Aldean: Apparently, ABC broadcast his performance of his questionable song “Try That in a Small Town” in last night’s pre-taped CMA Fest 2023.
And Jeannine Pirro of Fox News, she performed an amazing feat of logistical gymnastics explaining why Aldean chose to film his video for the song in front of a courthouse where a notorious lynching took place: see, according to her, BLM are the actual lynchers:
“Don’t you think he’s trying to show that there hasn’t been much progress and that, you know, Black Lives Matter is violating the law themselves at this point,” Pirro said, to the seeming consternation of even cohost Greg Gutfeld, who was left expressionless by the comment, even looking down at the table as the camera pulled out to a wider shot.
“Rioting and burning,” Pirro added, referring to news clips featured in Aldselemean’s video of burning U.S. flags and protestors confronting police. “That’s what happened a hundred years later.”
@destineenstark I may be petty, but my THOROUGH and petty! 😂 Here is my dissertation debunking Jason Aldean’s claims about his 🎶🎥 propaganda. #jasonaldean #countrymusic #debunked #debunktok #factsoverfeelings #propganda #americanpropaganda
