Is this the real reason Tucker was fired? (No, probably not.)

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

According to The New York Times, Tucker Carlson was fired because of a text message that “alarmed Fox leaders.” Here’s the message, which interestingly was dated January 7, 2021:

Apparently the whole “it’s not how white men fight” made the Fox heads clutch their pearls at the implied racism. Except …

Someone at Fox News is continuing to leak Tucker material, and this afternoon Media Matters published a video of Carlson calling the Dominion Voting Systems lawyer a “slimy little motherfucker” and went on to talk about how much he hates him. Basically, Fox News is dumping everything they’ve got on Tucker to 1. justify the firing, 2. direct attention away from the Dominion settlement, and 3. send a message to Carlson to be careful about how he plays all of this.

Meanwhile, Sean Hannity, who no longer has Tucker Carlson’s show as a lead-in, has lost half of his viewers. Sad.

Kate Bush is among the newest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, along with Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners. And I’m not saying it’s because of Stranger Things … but …

According to Succession composer Nicholas Britell, the finale will be 90 minutes long. It will air on May 28.

And did you catch the Abbott Elementary appearance on this week’s Succession episode? I mean, probably not. I took a Warner Bros. Studio tour about 18 months ago, and I didn’t catch it — and I was looking.

Padma Lakshmi claims that she eats 8,000 to 9,000 calories a day during the early episodes of a Top Chef season. They need to bottle her metabolism.

Elon Musk is a spoiled toddler who doesn’t realize that you can’t force someone to use your broken-ass site.

John Stamos had the Olsen twins fired from Full House pilot because they cried too much … but they were hired back a few days later.

Speaking of Full House … but make it Sopranos:

As I’m watching coverage of yet another mass shooting, this time in Atlanta, I came across this story of how Fox 13 Memphis (WHBQ-TV) was shot at from an AR-style weapon. This country is gun sick.

tWitch’s widow, Allison Hoker Boss, gave her first interview to The Today Show, in which she said she hoped to bring awareness to mental health issues, and help people feel comfortable asking for help:

Jamie Foxx reportedly suffered a “medical emergency” yesterday morning. His family reports that he is doing much better this afternoon, but that doctors say he will still be in the hospital for at least a few more days. Get better soon!

Maria Menounos has revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer in January. This after surviving a brain tumor in 2017. Wishing her continued good health as she recovers.

Love is dead.

Writers’ strike stuff:

The Talk has gone dark because of the strike, making it one of the only (the only?) daytime talk shows to go on hiatus.

Other writers’ rooms that have shut down: Night Court, and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

The CBS Fall Schedule Preview event has been postponed because of the strike. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to other upfronts …

Jon Stewart has canceled an Emmys For Your Consideration event for his show The Problem with Jon Stewart as part of the strike.

The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards is going forward as planned on Sunday. Good luck with that!

Adam Conover gets it: David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros. Discovery was paid $250 million last year — which is the equivalent of what 10,000 writers are asking to be paid collectively.

Finally: here are some really great signs seen at the strike.
