Will Smith finally apologizes for The Slap, but is it enough? (Apparently not for Chris Rock.)

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Will Smith has finally broken his silence on The Slap. In a five-minute video, Smith apologizes to Chris Rock, his mother and family, and says that Rock has not agreed to speak to him yet. “I’m trying to be deeply remorseful without being shamed of myself. I made a mistake. I’m not trying to think of myself as a piece of sh*t. I would say to those people, I know that it was confusing. I know that it was shocking, but I promise you, I am deeply devoted and committed to putting light and love and joy into the world. If you hang on, I promise we will be able to be friends again.”

It’s a good start, but maybe he should call Oprah and do a proper interview where he would be asked some difficult questions.

This goes out to all my fellow 80s kids:

The View is bringing Elisabeth Hasselbeck back to guest host. OK BUT WHYYYYYY

Abbott Elementary will stream on both HBO Max and Hulu in an unusual agreement. The series airs on ABC, but is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Sony Television, hence its availability on HBO Max. (In fact, and I’ve mentioned this before on this blog, it’s filmed in the largest studio at Warner Brothers Studios — they built an entire school inside the sound stage.)

American Idol auditions will begin soon: August 3, to be precise. For my aspiring Texans, auditions will take place in our state on August 10.

Pete Davidson has Amy Schumer and Bill Hader to thank for being cast on Saturday Night Live, and by extension his relationship with Kim Kardashian.

Speaking of SNL, the headlines are that Kenan Thompson thinks the show should end with its 50th season, but there’s a little more context than that. Specifically, there’s a rumor that Lorne Michaels will retire after the 50th season? Which would be the 2024-2025 season? It makes sense …

An immersive Squid Game experience is coming your way — including right here in Texas with locations in San Antonio and The Woodlands.

It’s been a little over a year since Bob Odenkirk’s terrifying heart attack:

It was a rough Q2 for Peacock and Roku.

I don’t know what this means and what all the implications are, but apparently, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has sold off the rights to the Golden Globe Awards to a private entity owned by billionaire Todd Boehly. The plan is to add more voting members to the Globes and increase diversity — and possibly get it back on primetime TV? We’ll see.

If the Warner Brothers/Discovery merger threatens my precious FBoy Island, HEADS WILL ROLL.

Wait, this is the first time Neil Patrick Harris is playing a gay character on TV? How can that possibly be?

Shonda Rhimes, Issa Rae, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Natasha Lyonne, and Ava DuVernay are just some of the 400 television writers and showrunners who signed a letter demanding that studios need to put into place specific safety protections for employees in states where abortion has been outlawed. Stay tuned.

Heal quickly, Amy Grant!
