I am in New York for the blizzard (well, not for the blizzard itself, though I’m pretty sure my husband is), and the best part of all the snow was seeing all the good boys and girls playing in it in Central Park.

John Davidson, the man with Tourette’s who disrupted the BAFTAs, is “mortified if anyone considers my involuntary tics to be intentional or to carry any meaning,” which is not the same thing as an apology. (This is, of course, its own debate, whether or not Davidson should apologize for something that is not his fault. I take the position, as others, which is that when you cause harm, even involuntarily, you apologize. It does not necessarily mean you are at fault, but that you recognize you hurt someone.)
And the BAFTAs has begun a “comprehensive review.”
So, Paramount made another offer for Warner Bros. yesterday, though the terms have not been released. Warner Bros. is said to be reviewing the bid, while still recommending to the board that they vote on Netflix’s offer next month. There is a lot of whispering that Paramount has upped their bid from $30 a share to $32 or even more, and that if Warner Bros. accepts it, they also have to kick in $2.8 billion to pay the breakup fee to Netflix. This is an insane amount of money that a lot of people think doesn’t work without massive job cuts and not nearly as many movies in theaters that they are currently promising. But David Ellison sure is determined.
Meanwhile, President Racist is out here reposting a racist Laura Loomer post that demands the Netflix deal not go through because: “Making this more horrifying is the fact that if the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger is approved, positive messaging of the Democrats’ upcoming witch hunts against Trump from Barack Hussein Obama…and his anti-White racist wife Michelle… would likely be blasted across all streaming services as the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions continues to grow within Netflix.”
Clearly a Warner Bros. buyout by anyone, be it Paramount or Netflix, will be bad for the industry — there will be layoffs and fewer projects being made. But I’m always going to be on whatever side Laura Loomer is against, because fuck her.
The creator of A Knight of Seven Kingdoms has a plan going forward. Some spoilers in this link, both for the finale that aired on Tuesday, and for the larger story in general. But I can’t resist this theory directly tying some characters to beloved Game of Thrones characters, so I’m going to spoiler font it, but ZOMG … (scroll over to reveal): IS DUNK BRIENNE’S FATHER? I WILL DIE, IT’S SO GOOD. When I sent this theory to my son, he suggested that it’s been out there since at least 2016, and sent me this link. Tread carefully, I guess!

#MeToo
Peter Mandelson, the former U.K. ambassador to the United States has been arrested “on suspicion of misconduct in public office” based on his inclusion in the Epstein files, because some countries care about consequences. Mandelson’s arrest follows Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest for similar crimes, though it should be noted that neither man has been arrested for sexually-related crimes.
Speaking of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, turns out he paid off Virginia Giuffre with funds he borrowed from his mother and brother, and hasn’t paid back a penny, but that’s hardly surprising.
Our President thinks Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest is “a very sad thing.” Not the horrific abuse of over a thousand young girls by a group of global elites over a period of decades that went unpunished, that’s not “a very sad thing,” but a spoiled prince being held accountable for his gross, inhumane behavior that led a woman to take her own life? “Very sad.”
Casey Wasserman, the talent agent found in the Epstein files, is now selling his agency and marketing firm because all of his artists are dropping him, including the Dropkick Murphys, Chappell Roan, Orville Peck, Beach Bunny, Best Coast, Sleigh Bells, and many others. Wasserman continues to chair the Los Angeles Olympic Games, but L.A. Mayor Karen Bass is calling for him to step down after previously having defended him.
DP World, a large port and logistics company, has ousted Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, after Congressman Ro Khanna revealed that he was the person who emailed Epstein, “I loved the torture video” — and the Department of Justice redacted his name. It will shock you, I’m sure, to learn that President Sex Pest worked with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem on projects in Dubai.
And then there is the Norwegian Royal Family. The scandal began some 25 years ago when the Crown Prince married a divorced, single mother commoner, Mette-Marit, who had a three-year-old son, Marius Borg Høiby, with a convicted drug dealer. 25 years later, and that son is on trial for THIRTY-EIGHT (38) counts of rape, and Mette-Merit’s name is all over the Epstein Files, suggesting a more than platonic relationship.
Oh, and speaking of Peter Attia, he’s stepping down as a CBS News contributor following the revelation that he was all over the files being gross.
But the biggest fish of all, Epstein’s-Best-Friend-in-Chief, he is actively being protected by the Department of Justice. The bill that released the files specifically stated that no one’s names in the files should be redacted “on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary.” And yet, mysteriously, some 50 pages of interviews and notes with a woman who claims President Predator raped he when she was 13-years-old seem to have gone missing. HUH.
In news somehow unrelated to Jeffrey Epstein, here’s a concerning story from 1991 regarding President Mar-A-Lago and tennis champion, Monica Seles when she was 17 years old. And it was all played off like it was a sexy romance:

Tyra Banks would like you to know she’s really sorry for not doing more to protect an America’s Next Top Model contestant from being sexually molested during a photo shoot. She refused, however, to even discuss the woman who was raped on camera.
