Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

No, The View hasn’t been canceled, it’s just on a summer break before the new season begins in September. Everyone on both sides of the political spectrum can stand down.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is going to go full puppet for one episode.

Sooooo, I didn’t talk about the Coldplay Astronaut CEO Kiss Cam situation because everyone had already seen it, it wasn’t about TV, not my business, whatever. But now Ex-Mrs. Coldplay has been recruited by Astronaut to do a silly little video in the aftermath of this story, and it’s hilarious so yeah, we’re going to share it here:

Well played. (It was made by Ryan Reynolds’ marketing company, btw.)

Jean Smart’s reaction to this woman who wants a Deborah Vance tattoo is so pure:

I am irrationally excited about the Alien: Earth series.

Sounds like Abbott Elementary might be filming at an Eagles game. Maybe a Phillies game? But likely an Eagles game, right? (Watch it be a Sixers game.)

The Rookie‘s season eight premiere was filmed in Prague for some reason.

Since people are so desperate for The Simpsons to have predicted everything, Matt Groening made some predictions at Comic-Con this weekend. Also, “delete Fox News” is the only thing that is going to save us at this point.

The Onion‘s resident cartoonist, Stan Kelly, will illustrate the opening credits to The Simpsons‘ Treehouse of Terror episode this upcoming season.

Love Island USA season 7 is officially Peacock’s most popular series, and I am deeply ashamed to admit I contributed to those numbers just to try to figure out what the hell I was missing. Not a lot, it turns out.

That time same-sex marriage was so controversial, ABC moved one of its most popular shows to a later time slot and refused to show a same-sex kiss.

Has the Community movie been paused? Maybe. Will it ever happen? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rob Lowe is petty and I am here for it:

Here are a bunch of Seinfeld facts. And here’s a personal fact: the Soup Nazi’s restaurant is still there, and across the street from my husband’s New York office. He eats there often, and reports that everyone who works there is lovely.

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced their new names for their separated companies: Warner Bros. and Discovery Global.

Discovery Global will consist of the “company’s cable, news and sports-focused offerings such as CNN, TNT Sports in the U.S., Discovery, free-to-air channels across Europe and digital products like the Discovery+ streaming service and Bleacher Report.”

Warner Bros. will include “Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO, HBO Max and Warner Bros. Gaming Studios as well as the company’s film and television libraries.” Unfortunately, it will continue to be run by that idiot David Zaslav.

Sounds like the Paramount/Skydance merger will be finalized on August 7. What happens after that should be interesting. And I don’t mean “interesting” in a positive way.

Former CBS star Connie Chung thinks this merger is “the end of CBS News,” and is calling out Shari Redstone and the Ellisons.

David Letterman on the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert:

“This is pure cowardice,” Letterman says. “You’re telling me 60 Minutes, the pinnacle of journalistic excellence and integrity for decades … they decided, ‘Aw, we’re sorry, let us give you $20 million.’ I believe this is in the wake of that.”

Letterman closes with one last swipe at CBS and Paramount management. “I think one day, if not today, the people at CBS who have manipulated and handled this are going to be embarrassed,” he says. “This is gutless.”

NO ONE ASKED YOU, JAY LENO. Go make some more lame Monica Lewinsky jokes and stay out of it, bud.

Hey! Not everything is terrible, right?
