LOUD WHITE MEN FOR KAMALA!
Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
I’m going to mostly stay away from politics today, except to ask: HEY. HAVE YOU VOTED YET? WHY NOT?
Also, a shockingly racist exchange happened on CNN last night. Former President Floating Island of Garbage’s surrogate Ryan Girdusky was arguing with Mehdi Hasan at a roundtable, when this happened:
Girdusky: I never called you an antisemite.
Hasan: I’m a supporter of Palestinians, so I’m used to it.
Girdusky: Well, I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.
Hasan: Did you just say I should die? Did you just say I should be killed live on CNN?

Girdusky was referring to the spate of pager bombings that was taken out against members of Hezbollah last month, basically suggesting that Hasan was a terrorist and that he should be murdered by the IDF. Girdusky quickly realized he done fucked up and tried to apologize, but after the commercial break, he was gone and CNN apologized to Hasan. CNN also put out a statement assuring viewers that Girdusky will never return:
There is zero room for racism or bigotry at CNN or on our air. We aim to foster thoughtful conversations and debate including between people who profoundly disagree with each other in order to explore important issues and promote mutual understanding. But we will not allow guests to be demeaned or for the line of civility to be crossed. Ryan Girdusky will not be welcomed back at our network.
Girdusky later tried to claim it was a “joke” which isn’t exactly the best defense after what went down in Madison Square Garden on Sunday. This is who they are, and you know what? Fuck that.
In other cable news news: Andrea Mitchell is planning on stepping down from her MSNBC show in 2025. She’ll stay with NBC News as their chief Washington correspondent and chief foreign affairs correspondent.
You know, instead of making a new Squid Game series, you could make a third season of Mindhunter, David Fincher.
The Golden Bachelorette guys appear to be moving on with their lives:
Jordan might be hanging out with Leslie from The Golden Bachelor.
Mark is maybe dating actress Barbara Alyn Woods.
And Pascal is dressing up as Joan? Huh.
You know what, Ian Somerhalder? Go live your best life, buddy.
It doesn’t sound like Molly Shannon will be returning to Saturday Night Live for its 50th anniversary, which is a shame considering the whole Sally O’Malley angle of it all.
Frasier actor Toks Olagundoye says she was worried she was going to be fired from the show after receiving a cancer diagnosis, but Kelsey Grammer called her personally to assure her that she wasn’t going anywhere. Which is a touching story, I guess, but it also sounds like it would have been the basis of a really good lawsuit if she had been fired, so.
Jay Johnston fucked around, and now he’s found out.
Happy birthday, Strahan twins, and stay healthy, Isabella!
#MeToo
Two more lawsuits have been filed against Sean Combs: one claiming he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old boy who wanted to audition for Making the Band; the other, a plaintiff who says he was 10 years old at the time, and an aspiring actor and rapper.
Chris Brown: A History of Violence, an Investigation Discovery documentary that debuted on Sunday explored the multiple allegations of intimate-partner violence, assault charges and sexual assault against the singer. The documentary also introduced a new accuser who says that Brown drugged and raped her while on Sean Combs’ yacht in Florida.
Entertainment Weekly has a timeline of the allegations against Brown.
Sunny Hostin hosted an aftershow discussion, noting that, “Domestic violence is an epidemic hiding in plain sight. It doesn’t discriminate. In that respect, wealth has little to do with many instances.”
Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland has opened up about surviving her abusive relationship. “I don’t know if that part [of] any woman will ever be fully healed from that. It’s something that kind of scars her soul a little bit. It’s more so putting love towards that scar instead of hating it and ignoring it.”
The WWE has been sued again, this time for fostering a culture of abuse and looking the other way while Melvin Phillips, a ringside announcer, sexually abused young men he hired as “ring boys.”
I mentioned last week that Good Omens will be back for one 90-minute episode, but I left out the part that Neil Gaiman will not be involved after multiple allegations have been leveled at him.
Penny Perry, Hallmark Channel’s former top casting executive, is suing the network for age discrimination, and claims that Hallmark EVP of programming Lisa Hamilton Daly said they need to find younger actresses to replace the likes of Holly Robinson-Peete and Lacey Chabert.
And two former executives on Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are suing the shows and Sony, claiming they were fired after opposing “harmful discrimination and toxic working conditions” on the shows.
Oh, Jeopardy! This might not have been the best time for this answer.
Actor Jack Merrill has come forward to say that he was one of John Wayne Gacy’s victims — he was urged to stay quiet about it as a young actor, apparently.
It is amazing how much our culture hates women’s bodies.
Apparently, Seth Rogan no longer talks to James Franco after the whole gross James-Franco-was-sleeping-with-his-students thing.
Gérard Depardieu doesn’t want to have to go to trial because he’s unhealthy. Dommage, c’est tellement triste.
OH TODAY SHOW, I KNOW YOU ARE NOT GONNA EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

R.I.P.
Terri Garr, The wonderful comic actress who starred in Young Frankenstein, Mr. Mom, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Conversation, and Tootsie, among others (including Phoebe’s birth mom on Friends, in some PERFECT casting). This is one of those painful ones.
Oh man, this is devastating. Teri was a legend. So funny, so beautiful, so kind. I had the honor of working with her in 2006 and she was everything I dreamed she would be. Truly one of my comedy heroes. I couldn’t have loved her more. This is such a loss. https://t.co/Uf7q4M59XI
