Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Julia Quinn, the author of the Bridgerton novels, has released a statement in support of Netflix and Shondaland’s gender swap in Francesca’s story. There are spoilers in here for Francesca’s story, so approach with caution if you don’t want to know. But the long and short of it is, Quinn is confident Shondaland’s version will honor the most important aspects of Francesca’s love story, regardless of the gender of those involved.

I haven’t watched The Real Housewives of New Jersey in a few seasons (or any Real Housewives, honestly), I just became exhausted by it all. (Also, it was kinda hard to care about a bunch of rich ladies’ problems in the midst of a global pandemic.) But to only be realizing now, in 2024 — 14 seasons in — that Teresa Guidice is the problem, she’s the manipulator, she’s the petty, vindictive, jealous one … what have you been watching this entire time? I’m not saying Bravo should fire her, but they clearly can’t keep both Teresa and Melissa, it’s ruining the show.

That role for Jared Padalecki on The Boys inches ever closer.

Speaking of Padalecki, he opened up about his mental health struggles in 2015, and suicidal ideations that led him to check himself into a mental health clinic for a few weeks. We’re all proud of him for getting the help he needed.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Call 988 or reach out to 988lifeline.org for help today.

Baby Reindeer‘s Martha was almost played by Melissa McCarthy which would have been a huge distracting mistake.

Looks like the next season of Top Chef will be set in Canada.

Did they overedit this most recent season of Top Chef? Maybe!

Julie Chrisley’s prison sentence is going to be recalculated.

I know Paramount is going through some things right now and cuts have to be made, but how expensive could it possibly have been to keep an old website up and running? Anyway, you’ll be missed, MTV News.

EXCUSE ME, BUT PRINCE DOES NOT ALREADY HAVE A STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME? WHAT BULLSHITTERY IS THIS?

The Simpsons really are eternal.

Prayers for J. Lo.

InfoWars is finally about to be shut down. Couldn’t be happening to a more deserving ghoul. Bye, bitch.

Congratulations, Mindy Kaling!

Sending good thoughts to Gena Rowland and her family in this difficult time.

Also continuing to send positive thoughts to Shannen Doherty as she continues to fight her stage four cancer.

Jonathan Majors’ comeback is afoot: He’s landed his first post-conviction role, as a man whose girlfriend is possessed by something that he has to battle.

Merciless intertwines themes of possession, revenge and personal justice within a haunting narrative. It explores the psychological descent of John, played by Majors, and the supernatural forces challenging his sanity,” Villeneuve says.

So a man who was convicted of beating his girlfriend will star in a movie in which the hero seeks “revenge and personal justice” after his girlfriend is possessed. Oh! And it’s being produced by Christopher Tuffin, who also produced “the Jim Caviezel-starring, right-wing fever dream Sound Of Freedom,” who appears to be waging a war against cancel culture: he “refuses to let the court of public opinion and selective prosecution undermine great art and artists,” and notes “In graduate school, I had the good fortune to study screenwriting under Blacklist scribe Millard Lampell and learned from him the dangers of letting politics undermine due process and deprive artists of their careers.”

Majors also was awarded something called the “Perseverance Award” from something called “Hollywood Unlocked” this past weekend. In his acceptance, he thanked Will Smith — who also assaulted a person in front of the entire world — among others for their support. The whole thing is gross and unsurprising.

This is going to shock you, but Elon Musk has been accused of being inappropriate with his female employees.

Arianne Zucker, the woman in the center of the “grab ’em by the pussy” tape, feels like she was more abused by the aftermath of the release of the tape than by the disgusting comments themselves. Interestingly, she is also involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit against NBC over being fired from Days of Our Lives. Complicated person.

Matt Gaetz isn’t out of the woods just yet.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs was arrested for domestic abuse.

Jennifer Esposito opened up about a “Harvey Weinstein-esque” producer who nearly derailed her career.

  • WAIT! HOLD UP! HANG ON! So, there was all this buzz that General Hospital was bringing back a male character that would make people really excited, and everyone is like, “Duh, it’s Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig above), he’s been posting a bunch on social media and kinda giving it away.” The story above broke yesterday and some people were disappointed it was Craig because they don’t like Morgan, but others (including me) were disappointed that they are clearly bringing him back as either just a dream or a ghost for only one episode. BUT THEN TODAY, they just announced that Jonathan Jackson is returning as Lucky Spencer for what is expected to be a long run. Jackson hasn’t been on the show since 2015, so it’s kind of a big deal.
