Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
If your favorite thing about La Brea is Eve — and I like Natalie Zea fine, but is ANYONE an Eve fan? — you’re going to be disappointed in the upcoming shortened season three. Reportedly Zea will not be in most episodes, and, in fact, never went down to film in Australia for this season.
George R.R. Martin most recently avoided finishing The Winds of Winter by going to London and visiting the set of House of the Dragon. He reveals that work on seasons three and four are in the works, and that Ryan Condal showed him the first two episodes of season two:
Of course, I am hardly objective when talking about anything based on my own work… but I have to say, I thought both episodes were just great. (And they are not even finished yet). Dark, mind you. Very dark. They may make you cry. (I did not cry myself, but one of my friends did). Powerful, emotional, gut-wrenching, heart rending. Just the sort of thing I like. (What can I say? I was weaned on Shakespeare, and love the tragedies and history plays best of all).
Taylor Sheridan is suing Yellowstone star Cole Hauser’s coffee brand Free Rein because their logo looks too similar to Bosque Ranch’s logo. You might remember that Sheridan is also suing Kevin Costner, so which cast member is next?
A BBC presenter was accidentally caught flipping the bird on live TV in what she described as a “silly joke” in an apology. Team BBC Presenter. Let that bird fly free, girl.
At a roundtable event, “Producers Roundtable: Telling Stories That Matter,” at TheWrap’s Power Women Summit, a number of producers, including The Last of Us executive producer Carolyn Strauss and Barry executive producer Aida Rodgers talked about refusing to film in states that have imposed reproductive restrictions out of safety for their cast and crew. GOOD.
“Where we choose to shoot is not just about bringing money or spending money in Georgia or wherever, it’s about ‘can you take care of the crew?’” Strauss said. “You have to think about the health and safety of your crew… I won’t shoot in those states.”
In perhaps the least surprising news of the day, Tim Allen is “such a bitch” according to his The Santa Clauses co-star, Casey Wilson. On her podcast, Bitch Sesh, the hilarious Wilson who apparently had zero fucks to give, said that working on the Disney+ show was her worst experience with a co-star:
“So I’m in a scene. It’s just me and Tim Allen and I’m supposed to throw things at him,” Wilson remembered. “I think he’s a burglar. So he’s coming down the chimney, obviously as Santa, and I am woken up thinking there’s an intruder, basically like a home invasion scene. So I’m throwing things at him. [He] goes over to the producer who is standing four feet from me and goes, and I hear him, he goes, ‘You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines.’ The producer turns to me with horror on his face and has to walk one foot to me and he goes, ‘Um, Tim would ask that you stop stepping on his lines.’”
“It’s the end, and Tim Allen goes, ‘Leaving!,’ takes his Santa cape, picks it up and drops it on the floor and walks out,” Wilson added. “And they hustle in his stand-in; lovely man, who was much nicer to act against. People are scurrying to pick up his velvet Santa coat. He’s a bitch. And this is the best… I will not say who said this. This was someone that I do not know, perhaps in the crew. [He or she] breezes past me and just goes, ‘You’re seeing him on a good day.’”
She added, “he was so f*cking rude. Never made eye contact, never said anything. It was so uncomfortable.” ALL OF THIS CHECKS OUT.
