Matthew Perry had a storyline cut from Friends in which Chandler would have cheated on Monica, knowing fans would never forgive him. This reminds me of that one writer who wrote a tell-all book recently, who complained that the cast of Friends would regularly have things cut from the scripts if they thought it wasn’t funny or didn’t work and this writer whined about it. Fact of the matter is, these actors deeply understood not just their characters but how the audience was responding to them, and their input was important. This is just a great example of that.
