In absolutely not shocking news: Another “nice guy” TV host is actually a huge asshole.

Bless his heart.

It’s an honest mistake

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Hey, apparently “nice guy” Jimmy Fallon is actually a terrible boss and huge jerk who berates and mistreats his employees to the point that they joke about suicide and use the guest dressing rooms as “crying rooms.” His behavior is so nasty that while as a guest on the show, Jerry Seinfeld demanded Fallon apologize to a cue card guy, to whom Fallon was rude. The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon has gone through nine showrunners in nine years — which is just about all you really need to know. And not to be a Monday morning quarterback, but he’s always seemed like a fake faker to me, so absolutely no part of this story is particularly surprising, except for how long it took to come out.

In a statement to Rolling Stone who published the story about Fallon originally, NBC was … cagey.

“We are incredibly proud of The Tonight Show, and providing a respectful working environment is a top priority,” a spokesperson said. “As in any workplace, we have had employees raise issues; those have been investigated and action has been taken where appropriate. As is always the case, we encourage employees who feel they have experienced or observed behavior inconsistent with our policies to report their concerns so that we may address them accordingly.”

Fallon’s people declined to comment altogether.

H’oh boy, David Zaslav plans to milk as much as he can from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, because everyone is just crying out for more Lord of the Rings content.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Discovery has suspended its deals with some of its biggest producers, including “Greg Berlanti, Bill Lawrence, John Wells, Chuck Lorre, and Mindy Kaling, as well as J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot shingle.”

Paramount+ is threatening to raise its price.

Roku is the most recent streamer that is removing content.

GEE, WHY IS EVERYONE AGAINST THE STUDIOS IN THIS STRIKE BUSINESS, WHAT A MYSTERY.

CNBC has a long, juicy piece about how Bob Iger and his brief Disney CEO replacement, Bob Chapek didn’t get along from the get-go. An in-office shower is involved.

Feel better soon, Boss!

Hoping Kourtney Kardashian and her baby are OK.

Charter/Spectrum has now been hit with a class action suit by subscribers who are REAL MAD about losing their college football thanks to Disney and Charter’s carriage fight. The plaintiffs are claiming they are being used as pawns in a “a clear money grab” by the cable company. Why does it feel like Disney is behind this lawsuit …

In honor of the kickoff of the NFL season, here’s the complete NFL regular season schedule. Hope you don’t have Charter cable!

Some things I missed last week:

George R. R. Martin says this finale is the most perfect finale in the history of television … and no, it’s not the finale of Game of Thrones, because COME ON.

Michael Patrick King, the creator of And Just Like That, thinks he knows when the audience turned against Che, but BOY HOWDY IS HE WRONG — it wasn’t that incident between Che and Miranda in the kitchen; the audience turned against Che from the minute they came on screen with their unfunny podcast, their unfunny stand-up comedy, and just general abrasiveness. But it is completely unsurprising that the man who created Che — and insists on keeping Che around — would misunderstand why the audience has responded so negatively towards Che from the get-go.

Mitchel Musso, a former star of Hannah Montana, got himself arrested in Rockwall County, here in Texas, after stealing a bag of potato chips from a hotel and then being drunkenly belligerent with the hotel employees. He insists this is all a dumb misunderstanding.

This is an interesting perspective on the ongoing, never-ending strikes: that Netflix has, somehow, managed to convince the networks to destroy themselves to help Netflix.

AMC has struck a deal with SAG-AFTRA that will allow Daryl Dixon; The Ones Who Live; and Interview with the Vampire to continue shooting despite the strike. Good for them.

The Georgia trial of former President Donald Trump and his 18 codefendants will be broadcast live on national TV, lol.
