‘Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power’ and ‘House of the Dragon’ are still filming — but should they be?

Happy Coronation! Horses will bite!

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Citadel is already Prime Video’s second-most popular series after only two episodes.

Lisa Vanderpump is closing her West Hollywood restaurant Pump, the only one of her restaurants I’ve ever been to. (It was fine.)

No, Schmigadoon!, you are not a “scripted variety” series, you are a comedy. Stay in your lane.

An episode of Bluey was edited after accusations that it fat-shamed.

The creators of Jury Duty are confident they could make a second season of the hidden-camera series.

Eight CBS-owned CW affiliates will drop The CW and become independent stations.

LOL, Elon Musk has taken down the label on blue checkmarked accounts that read: “This account is verified because they are subscribed to Twitter Blue and verified their phone number.” It now reads: “This account is verified” when you click on the checkmark. He had to do this for a couple of reasons: 1. he forced the checkmarks on celebrities who did not want it and did not pay for it, and the label could have been construed as fraud, and 2. the idiots who are actually paying for Twitter Blue are now being shamed and mocked for doing so, and this helps them save face. A little. But not really.

Huh. For some reason, Fox News failed to report on the conviction of the Proud Boys on charges of seditious conspiracy for at least 40 minutes. Wonder why?

Fox News has given Media Matters a cease and desist order to get them to stop leaking Tucker Carlson clips. The joke here is that it’s very likely the leak is coming from inside the house. And please enjoy Media Matters’ reply:

“Reporting on newsworthy leaked material is a cornerstone of journalism. For Fox to argue otherwise is absurd and further dispels any pretense that they’re a news operation. Perhaps if I tell them that the footage came from a combination of WikiLeaks and Hunter Biden’s laptop, it will alleviate their concerns.”

Writers Strike Stuff:

This is a good piece on one of the big problems the writers hope to change via the strike: the lack of transparency in viewership numbers in streaming, and how it punishes creators and fans alike.

Hacks; and The Venery of Samantha Bird are the most recent shows to shut down production because of the strike.

Over in New York City, filming on Billions and American Horror Story were forced to pause thanks to strikers and Teamsters blocking the sets.

Meanwhile, Lord of the Rings: The Rings Of Power is continuing production in the U.K. There is some tension about this and House of the Dragon continuing with production during the strike. Though scripts for season two of both series have been written, usually writers are on set to rewrite lines if necessary. So … are they doing that or not? Because if writers aren’t on set, things could get messy. But if they are on set, they are scabs … so what is it?

Also continuing to film is Doctor Who, but that’s less problematic as it is written in the U.K.

The AMPTP has released a statement in response to the strike, claiming that they are protecting creativity. LOL, OK.

The group representing Hollywood’s studios says that its offer amounts to more than double the annual pay raises that the WGA claims was offered and that the guild’s demand for mandatory staffing amounts to “a hiring quota that is incompatible with the creative nature of our industry.”

Meanwhile, David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros. Discovery, neglected to mention the strike in his recent earnings call with Wall Street, but later told CNBC that a “love for working” will bring both sides together. LOL, OK.

Jenna Ortega is being dragged into it thanks to her comments about rewriting parts of Wednesday because she understood the character in a way the writers didn’t.

PLEASE DO NOT HIT THE STRIKERS WITH YOUR CAR.

  1. The Bluey episode thing is completely overblown in my opinion and fully took over the discussion on my fb for like 2 weeks. It’s exhausting right now.

  2. OMG!! An HBO series about sorority rush at U of Alabama!! 😯🤣🤣🤣😑
