I’ve never seen a sable before, but now I have and now I NEED ONE.
Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
House of the Dragon has been renewed for a second season on HBO. Considering it was HBO’s biggest premiere — ever — this is the least surprising news of the week. Nearly 10 million people watched on Sunday, and that number climbed to 20 million over the course of the week.
“We are beyond proud of what the entire ‘House of the Dragon’ team has accomplished with season one,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming. “Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see-TV. A huge thank you to George, Ryan, and Miguel for leading us on this journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two.”
In other House of the Dragon news, apparently some people out there think the premiere episode should have had a trigger warning for that birthing scene. GROW UP. IT’S A GAME OF THRONES SERIES. By now everyone knows what you are getting into when you watch a Game of Thrones series: there’s going to be violence, there’s going to be titties, there is probably going to be something deeply traumatizing. Do not watch if you can not handle it, full stop.
Here’s some hand-wringing about whether or not Game of Thrones spoils the ending of House of the Dragon. Having read Fire & Blood, what I will say.is that while you may already know that (SPOILERS, I GUESS) Rhaenyra does not become the first woman to sit on the Iron Throne, why and how that happens is where the real story is, and it’s very interesting.
We have The Sandman the series because Neil Gaiman sabotaged The Sandman the movie by leaking the terrible script. Gaiman: “‘There was nothing in there I loved. There was nothing in there I liked. It was the worst script that I’ve ever read by anybody. It’s not just the worst Sandman script. That was the worst script I’ve ever been sent.’” So … yeah. He didn’t like it.
The Oscars really don’t want to talk about The Slap anymore. Good luck with that!
Elizabeth Hannah, the daughter of Gwen Shamblin Lara, the deceased leader of the Remnant Fellowship which was profiled in the documentary The Way Down: God, Greed, and the Cult of Gwen Shamblin, claims that her prayers have led to HBO Max’s downfall. I mean, that’s one explanation.
Stop confusing real people with fictional ones, guys. It’s weird.
Nichelle Nichols’s ashes will be flown into space. This is very wonderful.
This isn’t TV news, but Jamie Foxx’s Former President Dingus’ impersonation is absolutely amazing. Close your eyes, and you’ll swear it’s 2018 all over again.
