It’s Monday and here are some nosy Huskies:
All Other TV News
Morrissey is angry about the way The Simpsons portrayed him in last night’s episode. LOL, WHY? Because they portrayed him as a fat, racist carnivore, maybe?
The Walking Dead is a family affair for the Morgan clan.
Are Dale and Clare back together again? I mean, maybe, who knows. Adult relationships are complicated.
The “Herogasm” interlude will appear in The Boys season three, though it even scandalized Eric Kripke who is not easily scandalized.

Sharon Osbourne is blaming her former The Talk co-hosts for her firing, instead of, you know, being a racist asshole.
Is Pat Sajak TRYING to get fired?

There’s a big brouhaha brewing in European soccer if you care.
- Many of their own employees think that what they are broadcasting is “misleading, inaccurate or untrue”
- “Into April, news articles on the OAN website consistently referred to Donald J. Trump as ‘President Trump’ and to President Biden as just ‘Joe Biden’ or ‘Biden.’”
- Into March, they were promoting the theory that the Capitol rioters were Antifa
- Somehow, Dominion has not sued OAN yet, but some OAN employees actively wish they would. They referred to the voting systems company as “notorious” just last month
Marty Golingan, a producer at OAN said that he and many colleagues “disagreed” with the networks’ coverage of the election:
“The majority of people did not believe the voter fraud claims being run on the air,” Mr. Golingan said in an interview, referring to his colleagues.
He recalled seeing a photo of someone in the Capitol mob holding a flag emblazoned with the OAN logo. “I was like, OK, that’s not good,” Mr. Golingan said. “That’s what happens when people listen to us.”
OH? YOU THINK?
Celebrity politicians are a bad idea no matter what your politics. That said, I’d vote for him over Greg Abbott … (of course, I’d vote for an avocado over Greg Abbott, too).cor
Going Viral
Deaths continue to slide downwards, which, along with a 40% vaccination rate — with 50% of all adults having received at least one shot –, is good news. The bad news continues to be that we are still seeing cases and hospitalizations rise as the variants spread. Michigan continues to spiral out of control, and according to this map, the Texas panhandle is a goddamned mess (which does not surprise me — for the past month, it was the one area of the state where vaccines were readily available in pharmacies when they were nowhere else to be found).
Every adult in every state is now eligible for the vaccine, and hopefully, we will see a decline in the spread of the virus over the next several weeks, now that people 30 and younger — the group that is seeing the highest rates of contagion now — are eligible.
Dr. Fauci predicts that the pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will lift by the end of the week.
It’s interesting: early on in the pandemic as the mask mandates were beginning, I had read somewhere (wish I could remember where now … ) that implementing mask mandates in Asia was relatively easy because after the SARS outbreak in 2002, masks became ubiquitous. It will be interesting to see how many Americans continue wearing masks when this is all said and done — the number won’t be zero, as many people are recognizing that they became sick a lot less often in the past year. I, for one, don’t see myself flying without one in the near future, despite being vaccinated.
France plans to gradually reopen to Americans — VACCINATED Americans — in May.
A look back at how TV networks scrambled to fill the schedule when everything shut down. (TL; DR: they saved midseason shows for the fall, upped the number of reality series in production).
As for this coming season, the networks are expected to renew many more existing series, just like they did last year, and many of the pilots they are considering are holdovers from last year whose production had to be scrapped because of the pandemic.
Nielsen is telling the networks to get stuffed in regards to their concerns about pandemic-related declines in ratings, and are refusing to do a third-party audit.
Universal Studios Hollywood has reopened but only at 25% capacity and only for Southern California residents.
DO NOT GIVE THE OTTERS COVID, DAMMIT.

R.I.P.
, British actress who starred in Peaky Blinders and in three Harry Potter films, among many other roles, and wife to actor Damian Lewis
“Already I miss her,” Lewis writes. “She has shone more brightly in the last months than you would imagine even the brightest star could shine. In life, too, we had to rise to meet her. But her greatest and most exquisite act of bravery and generosity has been to ‘normalize’ her death. She’s shown no fear, no bitterness, no self-pity, only armed us with the courage to go on and insisted that no one be sad, because she is happy. I’m staggered by her. She’s been a meteor in our life.”

I’m devastated to learn of the death of Helen McCrory, an extraordinary actress and a wonderful woman who’s left us far too soon. My deepest condolences to her family, especially her husband and children. Simply heartbreaking news.
