WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT … Episode Five is going to be BIGGER than ‘The Long Night?’
In the last seconds of her interview with Jimmy Kimmel last night, Emilia Clarke revealed that episode five is “bigger” than this week’s and ordered fans to “find the biggest TV you can.” It should be noted that the director of the episode, Miguel Sapochnik, also directed this week’s “The Long Night.”
I’m already dead.
Here are pictures from episode four, which is not the big episode. Let’s look at them and overanalyze:
Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner married Joe Jonas in a Las Vegas wedding after the Billboard Music Awards last night. Congratulations, kids! (But it was kinda shitty for Joffrey to steal Joe’s stool at the last second.)
And in other Game-of-Thrones-improbably-meets-The-Billboard-Music-Awards news, Drake gave Arya Stark a shoutout in his speech last night. “Hey, shout-out to Arya Stark for putting in that work last week.” AMEN, DRAKE.
However, some are worried that Drake just cursed Arya. Apparently, he has bad luck?
The curse supposedly hurt Alabama in this year’s college football championship, purportedly caused Serena Williams the US Open in 2015, got the Kentucky Wildcats eliminated in 2013, caused the Golden State Warriors’ 2016 collapse in the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and has generally been credited with any calamitous athletic meltdown in recent years when fans dig up images of Drake wearing team apparel.
All that said, y’all know that Arya is going to die this season, right? Baby girl is doomed. Don’t @ me.
And now there’s an #AryaChallenge on social media?
Y’all, this is so dumb. Just stop.
And in a very sweet story, an 88-year-old hospice patient’s final wish was to meet the cast of Game of Thrones, but she modified it to just be able to watch The Battle of Winterfell — which she got to watch with the rest of us on Sunday. However, some of the cast surprised her, anyway, with videotaped messages of support. (If HBO were really awesome, they’d slip her a look at the last three episodes, too.)
TV critics name the shows that deserve a Deadwood-style wrap-up movie, and some of the suggestions include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hannibal, Freaks and Geeks, Mad Men, and NONE OF THEM. LEAVE THEM ALL ALONE.
Netflix is still being all defensive of their decision to cancel One Day at a Time, which, fine, whatever, but if they’re really sad to have had to cancel the series, they could release the show so another outlet could pick it up.
The League is going to have a reunion at the ATX Television Festival.
This is a fascinating look at how the screenwriting sausage gets made — a writer drafts a scene in 7 minutes and talks you through her thought process along the way:
Food stylists: what do they do? “And the devil often lies in the details: Stylists know to avoid parsley, pepper or other add-ons that might linger in actors’ teeth; they know potatoes are versatile and can stand in for less-durable edibles; and they’re conscious of food scents — fennel tends to substitute for raw onions.”
Lindsey Graham said “Trump is a fucking idiot” on live TV yesterday during the Barr hearing. WELL, I HAVE NEVER.
DRAG HIM, AVA.
