Half the Picture: A documentary about how women dominate directing in Hollywood. LOL, JK, IT’S THE EXACT OPPOSITE. 8 p.m., Starz

TUESDAY

Native America: A documentary series exploring the first peoples of the Americas. Series premiere. 8 p.m., PBS

Guest Book: The TBS comedy moves to a new location, The Barefeet Retreat, a beach motel, in the second season premiere. 9 p.m., TBS

The Great American Read: We finally learn what America’s most-loved novel is. Season finale. 7 p.m., PBS

Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh: I am not a fan of Sandler’s comedy, but someone must be. Netflix.

World Series: Game 1: I include this under protest that the Astros are not playing. 6:30 p.m., Fox

WEDNESDAY

Bodyguard: Robb Stark stars as a bodyguard to a sexy conservative MP who may be up to shenanigans. I’ve only seen previews, but it looks like a British Homeland. Sorta. Series premiere. Netflix

The Halloween episodes of the ABC comedies: The Goldbergs will feature Freddy Kreuger; American Housewife, Modern Family, and Single Parents do not.  7 p.m., ABC

Mr. Mercedes: Season Finale. 9 p.m., Audience

World Series: Game 2: I include this under protest that the Astros are not playing. 6:30 p.m., Fox

THURSDAY

Heathers: It almost didn’t happen, but here it is. Enjoy it while you can because it’s about to be burnt off over the next several days. Series premiere. 9 p.m., Paramount

Legacies: Oh look, it’s The Originals spinoff no one asked for but was given to us instead of Wayward Sisters. Boo. Series premiere. 8 p.m., The CW

Deutschland 86: Martin Rauch is called back into the field in 1986. Season premiere. 11 p.m., Sundance

Memento: I forget what this movie is about. 6:30 p.m., Showcase

FRIDAY

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: “Riverdale” but spookier. Series premiere. Netflix

Midnight, Texas: The opening of a new hotel shakes the town in the season premiere. 8 p.m., NBC

Channel Zero: The Dream Door: A couple finds a strange door in their cellar in the season premiere of the creepiest show on television. 10 p.m., Syfy

Shirkers: This strange-looking movie follows the attempt of a filmmaker to find a film she made in 1992. Just … watch this preview.  Netflix

Been So Long: Michaela Cole stars in this romantic musical. Netflix

SATURDAY

The Post: Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep star in this Spielberg movie about the Pentagon Papers that everyone thought would be huge Oscar bait last year. It was not. 7 p.m., HBO

Saturday Night Live: A clip show of the series’ best Halloween sketches. 10:30 p.m., NBC

World Series: Game 4: I include this under protest that the Astros are not playing. 6:30 p.m., Fox

SUNDAY

Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj: The former Daily Show correspondent gets his own weekly comedy show.  Series premiere. Netflix

Ray Donovan: Ray’s chance at a new life are derailed in the season premiere. 8 p.m., Showtime

World Series: Game 5 (If Necessary): I include this under protest that the Astros are not playing. 7 p.m., Fox
