In your feel-good news of the day: The heroes of the Cajun Navy are getting the documentary they deserve

The Cajun Navy is receiving the documentary treatment from Discovery Media. Apparently, the documentary will mostly follow the Cajun Navy’s formation and rescue work during Hurricane Katrina, and not specifically about their heroics during Hurricane Harvey. That said, those of us in Houston will always remember what they did for their neighbors here in Texas during one of our most trying moments. (Seriously, just remembering seeing the caravan of trucks towing boats towards Houston last year … and I get all verklempt all over again.)

“The Cajun Navy was born, spontaneously, out of one of the most devastating natural disasters in living memory in America – and the fact that it has endured and continues to rescue people every hurricane season is a testament to the need it fills in American life,” said a statement from Simon and Jonathan Chinn. “This feature documentary will be a snapshot into a fascinating and little understood group of people in the deep South who are driven to risk life and limb to help their neighbors, regardless of religion, race or creed.  We are very excited to be collaborating with Discovery to bring their stories into audiences’ homes.”

I can’t wait for the scene where they all got in their boats to watch the hurricane roll in.  There is no premiere date yet for the documentary.

Related: Discovery is planning a streaming service, and hopes to be your Netflix for unscripted TV. We’ll see.

More Game of Thrones news is dribbling out: Sophie Turner promises that: “This season is bloodier than ever,” she confesses. “It’s full of betrayal, full of war, full of danger. That’s all I can say without giving too much away.”

Also, we might see a trailer sometime this year; the episodes are not going to be two hours long as some speculated, but a normal 50-90 minute length; the final scripts are “epic” and a “fitting way” for the series to end; and they probably will not do screenings on IMAX because subscribers should get the show first.

Bloys also revealed in that interview above that he doesn’t know when Westworld will return: either 2019 or 2020. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In her interview with Sean Hannity, Roseanne Barr offered this non-apology: “I’m so sorry that you thought I was racist, and that you thought my tweet was racist—because it wasn’t. It was political. And I’m sorry for the misunderstanding that caused, my ill-worded tweet. And I’m sorry that you feel harmed and hurt. I never meant that, and for that, I apologize. I never meant to hurt anybody or say anything negative about an entire race of people, which I think my 30 years of work can attest to.”

Did you watch the Nashville finale last night? If so, you are probably the type of person who would be interested in how that cameo came to be.

ABC’s show The Last Defense has helped one of its subjects, Julius Jones, secure a new hearing in his death row conviction.

The new season of Orange is the New Black begins streaming on Netflix today, here’s where we left off.

Sam will be rocking a sadness beard on Supernatural this season.

Hey, congratulations, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas!

Oh goodness, get all better soon, John Roberts!

Trump Crap

In a day full of amazing Trump stories (Michael Cohen says Trump knew about the Russian Trump Tower meeting! Michael Cohen claims Trump is the one who leaked this news to CNN, not him! Trump’s finance guy is being talked to by the feds! Michael Avenatti is representing three more women who sold their stories to the National Enquirer, including one woman who claims she was pregnant!) this is an amazing story: Yesterday, Trump was driven to Andrews Air Force base for his flight to Illinois. So? Well, usually, Trump takes Marine One, a helicopter, from the White House lawn to Andrews, and fields questions from reporters before boarding. The White House claims that he took a car — thereby avoiding the press — because of weather conditions. Except …

Doin’ a heck of a job, Bill Shine!

Tom Arnold had a LOT of things to say about his new series, The Search for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold:

1. He is not going to stop until Trump resigns

2. He has no interest in changing the minds of the “40%” that support Trump: “And this 40 percent? F–k them. OK? Seriously”

3. That Trump doesn’t care about the national anthem, he just “hates black dudes”

4. “Four times, producers pulled Trump out of The Apprentice,” because of inappropriate remarks on camera.

5. That Mark Burnett is a hypocrite:

“I’m going to keep hammering Burnett until he shows” those tapes,” Arnold announced, claiming Burnett has tape of Trump using “the n-word,” among other incidents that might actually embarrass any other President of the United States.

Burnett, Arnold said, “sits next to Donald Trump and gives him cover.”

Burnett says he’s a Christian, and lets that man do all this bullshit and let a sexual harasser on this show,” Arnold scoffed.

6. “You got to go at this thing with all angles. He was so broke in 2008 he borrowed money from Jeff Epstein when he was a convicted pedophile, so it makes sense he would try to launder money through Russians.”

7. That Trump is lying about being a germaphobe because “How many germaphobes raw dog that many porn stars?”

Hey, don’t hold back, Tom!

This isn’t technically Trump-related, but Sinclair Media’s troubles are getting worse.

Time’s Up

Speaking of the Trumps, apparently Don Jr.’s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle didn’t leave Fox News, but was fired for inappropriate behavior, including “showing personal photographs of male genitalia to colleagues (and identifying whose genitals they were), regularly discussing sexual matters at work and engaging in emotionally abusive behavior toward hair and makeup artists and support staff.”

OOOH, CBS is opening a sexual misconduct investigation into Les Moonves ahead of a New Yorker piece that is about to be published. That can’t be good, Les, especially while you’re wrangling to keep control of the network. STAY TUNED.

Chloe Dykstra didn’t cooperate with AMC’s investigation into Chris Hardwick because she claims she never spoke out against him to ruin his career, but to move on with her life:

Ed Westwick will not be charged in three sexual misconduct cases.
