Timeless: It’s the premiere of Eric Kripke’s new time travel show. We give it a solid B+. Series premiere. 9 p.m., NBC

Conviction: Hayley Atwell stars in this new legal drama. Because what we need is another legal drama. HAYLEY ATWELL DESERVED BETTER THAN THIS, ABC. Series premiere. 9 p.m., ABC

Class Divide: This documentary is a look into the gentrification of Manhattan. Who knew there were parts of Manhattan that haven’t been fully gentrified? 7 p.m., HBO

Scorpion: Season premiere. 8 p.m., CBS

TUESDAY

The Vice Presidential Debate: LET’S GET READY TO WHITE GUY RUMBLE. 8 p.m., ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, CNBC, CSPAN

No Tomorrow: A young woman is convinced to carpe the diem when she meets a free spirit who thinks the world is going to end in this new show. Series premiere. 8 p.m., The CW

2016 Hip Hop Awards: DJ Khaled hosts with performances by Gucci Mane, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage Quavo, Young Thug, Big K.R.I.T., Lil Yachty, Isaiah Rashad, Desiigner, T.I., Big Baby D.R.A.M.,  and Dae Dae. 7 p.m., BET

The Flash: Season premiere. 7 p.m., The CW

The Mindy Project: Season premiere. Hulu

Frequency: It’s a remake of the Dennis Quaid sorta-time travel movie, but with a female lead because it is on The CW. Series premiere. 8 p.m., The CW

NOVA: A two-hour exploration of how early humans left Africa and populated the entire world. 8 p.m., PBS

Arrow: Season premiere. 7 p.m., The CW

 

THURSDAY

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Aubrey Plaza joins the judges as the queens make over their own family members. 7 p.m., Logo

Million Dollar Listing New York: Ryan’s Wedding: And they said it would never happen. (Actually, I don’t know that anyone ever said that, I don’t watch these shows. I can’t watch everything on Bravo, y’all.) 9:15 p.m., Bravo

The Stand: It’s that miniseries that was made back in the 90s with Molly Ringwald and Rob Lowe. Related: how has this not been turned into a limited series yet?  5 p.m., IFC

FRIDAY

13th: This documentary, named for the 13th amendment, takes a hard look at our prison system and mass incarceration problems. Netflix

World’s Scariest Ghosts Caught on Tape: I’m not going to lie, I am totally recording this nonsense. 9 p.m., DA

The Ranch: Season premiere. Netflix

SATURDAY

Saturday Night Live: Lin-Manuel Miranda begins his two-month-long invasion of our televisions with his hosting gig. 10:30 p.m., NBC

Carol: I am mostly including this because Rooney Mara plays a woman named “Therese.” 8 p.m., Showtime

SUNDAY

The Second Presidential Debate: Can. Not. Wait. 8 p.m., ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, CNBC, CSPAN

Divorce: Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Hayden Church star in this series from about a couple whose marriage is falling apart. Most notably, it is from Sharon Horgan, the creator and star of Catastrophe so that is promising. Series premiere. 9 p.m., HBO

Insecure: This new series by Issa Rae is so good and so funny. If you watch only thing on this entire list make it the Presidential Debate. But then if you could pick a second, make it this. Series premiere. 9:30 p.m., HBO
