Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
FIRST OF ALL: If you haven’t watched the Prime Video Carrie series from Mike Flanagan, may I suggest that you do so with quickness? I had my reservations about making a rather slim novel into a series — such things tend to be bloated messes at the end of the day — but Flanagan makes use of the extra time to really flesh out and humanize all of his characters in new, relevant, and interesting ways that play into the actual narrative. ANYWAY, here are a bunch of delightful easter eggs that might be a clue that the series plays a part in his planned Dark Tower project, or maybe they’re just cool easter eggs for horror fans. Hard to say! There’s also Carrie’s reading list, which is made up of some of the most banned books in our country’s history. Spoilers, obviously.
Jimmy Kimmel’s visit to Brooklyn gave him a significant ratings boost.
Freeform murdered a sitcom featuring some B-list sitcom stars you’ve already forgotten. Otherwise, it would have been a monster hit on … ABC Family. 🙁
What you and I missed at the 30 Rock 20th anniversary event.
PROMISE, RYAN MURPHY? DO YOU PROMISE?
The producer and creator of Newlyweds has been fired from the show ahead of its premiere.
$606 million for destroying an iconic brand. Good work if you can get it, I suppose.
Your Paramount/Warner Bros. layoffs are coming, but they’re going to be “respectful,” so just everyone be cool.
Netflix will also be laying folks off.
David Ellison, trying to calm everyone down about CNN’s independence, promises that it will be just as independent as CBS. OH GREAT. FEELING MUCH BETTER.
So let me get this straight: Jimmy Kimmel telling jokes about the sitting president = BAD, BAN HIM FROM AIRWAYS; airing public executions = Eh? Why not? What’s the harm? Genuinely, friends, this is what fascism looks like. Not exaggerating.
Meanwhile, a judge has told him to stop running those illegal ads on the taxpayers’ dime.
The new Hellmouth, I mean White House Press Secretary, has been announced.
Hey, remember when Scott Jennings was putting out rumors that he was going to be the next White House Press Secretary? That was funny.
I told you to get better soon, Barry Manilow.
