Everything is furiously spinning out of control, so let’s talk about Miss Piggy

That’s the horse’s baby now. Best just give her over.

@aimeemckmaymi

I think this is part 3, I don’t really know. I just hope you all enjoy and understand the magnitude of this relationship with this particular horse. It was Billie’s turn to be spicy… maybe that’s why Indie loves her so much, she respects the spice. #girlmom #horsegirl #horses #bonding #fyp

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

I am writing this as the news out of Minneapolis is coming in and I’m heartsick and scared and furious and can’t really process this right now. I might have more coherent thoughts later, but for now, my heart is with the people of Minnesota, and I hope everyone stays safe.

In the meantime, President Gestapo is floating canceling the midterms, rewriting January 6th, canceling federal funds to Democratic states, and actively threatening Greenland, among all the other horrors, and it is exhausting. Which, I gently remind you, is the entire point: they want us exhausted. They want us scared. They want us weak. They want us to forget about the Epstein Files and stop paying attention to the economy. Don’t give in to the ennui, no matter how much shit they throw at us in the coming weeks.

Warner Bros. officially declined Paramount’s takeover bid, again. Will the Ellisons finally walk away, or will they make another bid?

A reminder for why this Warner Bros./Netflix/Paramount fight matters: if the Ellisons get their hands on CNN, this is what it will devolve into:

I want you to pause for just one second and IMAGINE what would have happened if, in 2012, the CBS Evening News anchor closed an episode by saying, “Hillary Clinton, we salute you.” Imagine the head explosions.

We are knee-deep in awards season now:

The Actor Awards (nee: SAG Awards) have announced this year’s nominations, and The Studio leads the pack on the TV side, followed by Adolescence and The White Lotus. Over on the movie side, it’s One Battle After Another in the lead and Sinners close behind.

The DGA nominees were announced, and The Pitt and The Bear appear to be the favorites.

The GLAAD Award nominations are out. Heated Rivalry, Pluribus, Stranger Things, Boots, Severance, Ghosts, Hacks, The Last of Us, and a bunch more all received nods.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale is the official name of the Buffy reboot.

HOW VERY DARE THIS INTERIVEWER SUGGEST SOMEONE WOULD “PLAY” MISS PIGGY OTHER THAN MISS PIGGY?

You [Emma Stone] and Jennifer Lawrence are doing a Miss Piggy movie. Are you playing Miss Piggy?

First of all, that is the biggest insult to Miss Piggy I’ve ever heard, and I will not have her name dragged through the mud like that. Why would I play a literal star? She’s the greatest. No, of course I’m not playing Miss Piggy. And neither is Jen. We pale in comparison. Are you out of your mind? Miss Piggy is playing Miss Piggy. She would be storming out right now at the mere suggestion.

Between the news of this movie and The Muppet Show tribute next month, this really is the year of Piggy.

Hold up, is Chris Redd STILL with Kenan Thompson’s ex-wife?? Also, selling pills to your fellow SNL castmates is probably not the best way to stay employed on that show.

This is a very good wish list of people we would like to see on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in these final months.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! is cutting back on the musical performances.

Jenny McCarthy will not be returning to The View, not that anyone has invited her back.

Ashley Tisdale is starting some shit with her former Moms group.

Béla Fleck and Stephen Schwartz are the latest artists to cancel their performances at The Kennedy Center.
