‘The Witcher,’ ‘Down Cemetery Road,’ ‘I Love LA,’ and everything else you don’t want to miss on TV this week

MONDAY

It: Alright — we are entering the last week of Halloween, I’m afraid, so time to get serious and really lean into the scaries. If you enjoyed the new IT series on HBO, maybe go back and watch the excellent 2017 movie (the first one, not the disappointing second). 6:45 p.m., IFC

World Series Game 3: Speaking of 2017, I hate the Dodgers because they are a bunch of whiny babies who don’t know how to lose gracefully. So I was already rooting against them in this series. But then President Tariffs went and gave me a reason to actively root for the Blue Jays and here we are. Go birds. 6 p.m., Fox

The Sixth Sense: No, but seriously, what happened to M. Night Shyamalan? Because for real, this is a perfect movie. 8 p.m., HBO

TUESDAY

Don’t Date Brandon: Two women involved with the same man discover that he’s a manipulative liar with dark secrets in this new limited series. Series premiere. Paramount+

High Potential: Museum heists are all the rage these days! Fall finale. 9 p.m., ABC

Heretic: Hugh Grant is having such a good time in this wicked little psychological horror as a man who tests two young women’s faith. 8:42 p.m., HBO Hits West

WEDNESDAY

Down Cemetery Road: Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson star in this new thriller from the Slow Horses team, as two women who find themselves in the center of a conspiracy following a house explosion. Series premiere. Apple TV

Ballad of a Small Player: Colin Farrell stars as a high-stakes gambler whose debts and past are starting to catch up with him in this new film. Premiere. Netflix

Hazbin Hotel: Season two premiere. Prime Video

Love Is Blind: Reunion: These people have a lot of explaining to do. Netflix

Scanners: This ’80s classic is mindblowing. Literally. 6:53 p.m., Cinemax Action West

THURSDAY

The Witcher: It’s the Hemsworth debut, and I already miss Henry Cavill. BUT I’LL GIVE HIM A CHANCE. I GUESS. Season premiere. Netflix

Jurassic World Rebirth: I don’t know, but maybe we have learned our lesson and shouldn’t be messing with dinosaur DNA already? Premiere. Peacock

Sorry, Baby: In this award-winning film, a professor has to learn to move on with her life after a traumatic event. Critically-acclaimed, this movie about a dark subject manages to have a “light touch” and a “wry sense of humor” so don’t be too scared of it being a huge downer.  HBO Max

Hell House LLC: Lineage: The fifth and final installment in the Hell House LLC franchise follows a woman who has a dark connection to the Abaddon Hotel and Carmichael Manor. Premiere. Shudder

FRIDAY

Ghostbusters marathon: Who you gonna call? 7 p.m., Bravo

Late Night with the Devil: If you haven’t seen this clever little film about a 70s late-night show, a Halloween special, and a possessed little girl, do yourself a favor and give it a spin tonight. 11 p.m., IFC

Evil Dead II: The movie that made Sam Raimi famous. I saw this in the theater, and the basement door shot … it stayed with me. 10:16 p.m., HBO Hits

Night of the Living Dead: Is this the most important horror movie of the 1960s? … Discuss. 7 p.m., Retroplex

The State of BBQ: A Texas Monthly Special: Learn why Texas BBQ is the best BBQ. 9 p.m., PBS

On Brand with Jimmy Fallon: Season finale. 7 p.m., NBC

SATURDAY

The Silence of the Lambs: What, you thought that just because Halloween was yesterday that I’d stop recommending horror movies? It’s like you’ve never met me. 7 p.m., Sundance TV

Bringing Up Baby: Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and a leopard. What more do you need? 7 p.m., TLC

SUNDAY

I Love LA: It’s your newest 20s-something friend group in the big city comedy. Though I am old enough to be these people’s … big sister, I will be watching because I’m a sucker for the genre. Series premiere. 9:30 p.m., HBO

Palm Royale: Season two premiere. Apple TV+

Robin Hood: Sean Bean is your new Sheriff of Nottingham in this new adaptation of Robin Hood. Series premiere. MGM+
