Two more announce they’re leaving ‘SNL’ this season: one surprising, one less so

I need to bring this child with me everywhere so I remember where I went and what I did.

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

We have two more departures from Saturday Night Live (with more to come, I think):

Heidi Gardner is leaving after eight years with the show, which many had anticipated. Gardner has had success in other projects, including Shrinking, and was one of the longest-running players among the cast, with only Mikey Day, Colin Jost, and Michael Che having been there longer.

Perhaps more surprising was the announcement that Michael Longfellow is leaving SNL after three seasons. It had just been reported earlier this week that Longfellow had screen-tested for “Weekend Update,” so I suppose it didn’t go well? Frankly, I’m sad to see him go, and felt like he had a lot of untapped potential.

Punkie Johnson is all of us.

Meanwhile, Devon Walker urges everyone to calm down:

And a reminder that sometimes SNL just isn’t the right place for some very funny, and ultimately very successful people.

Still, despite all these departures (and with a few more expected to come), this doesn’t even come close to some of the most turbulent SNL seasons in the past.

Y’all are enjoying Alien: Earth, looks like.

Sounds like The Studio has hurt someone’s fee-fees.

You know, as Bella Ramsey points out, no one is making you watch The Last of Us.

When I was in high school and we were covering Hamlet, our final exam was one question: “Why Horatio?” This article about The Paper reminds me of that question, except, “Why Oscar?”

Abbott Elementary takes on the Phillies!

Honestly, JD Vance and Karoline Leavitt’s deliberate and willful misreading of what Jen Psaki is saying when she says that “prayers are not enough” in the wake of a tragic mass shooting is so infuriating I can barely see straight. SHE IS NOT CRITICIZING PRAYER, YOU PEARL-CLUTCHING NUMBNUTS, SHE IS SAYING THAT THE ONLY THING YOUR PARTY OFFERS IN THE WAKE OF HORRIFIC VIOLENCE — “THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS” — IS NOT ENOUGH TO CHANGE ANYTHING AND IS PARTICULARLY DISGUSTING WHEN THE CHILDREN WHO WERE MURDERED IN THIS INSTANCE WERE LITERALLY IN THE ACT OF PRAYING. If I don’t stroke out in the next three years, it will be an actual miracle.

Oh no, the White House is big mad at Ana Navarro for calling out Latinos for Trump. I’m sure she’s trembling in her boots.

Boo.

You’ll be able to add Peacock to your Prime Video subscription for an additional $16.99 a month or $169.99 a year. Peacock had previously avoided joining bundles but may be changing this position.

Wonder Project will also debut on Prime Video on October 5 for $8.99 a month.

Were you a fan of Dexter: Original Sin? You can add your name to a petition to save the series, which was canceled after having been renewed.

Congratulations, JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers! Genuinely happy for these two, one of the rare Bachelorette couples who made it.

Hoping Pauly Shore is doing well.

Get well soon, Jessie J.

Love is dead.
