Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
There are rumors that NBC Universal is considering killing The Real Housewives franchise as it has become such a legal hot potato. It’s plausible: there have been multiple lawsuits filed against Bravo in recent years and at some point, those costs might outrun the profits. And yet, I suspect these shows aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. They are the Bravo brand, and they continue to feed new content (see: Next Gen NYC and Love Hotel). They just need to hire some lawyers to draft some iron clad contracts for their cast members. I wouldn’t worry too much.
We very well might, however, be in the last days of the late night talk show.
The Kennedy family wasn’t consulted for American Love Story, and yeah? No shit? I understand why the Kennedys might be upset about the upcoming Ryan Murphy series, but the fact is, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette were public figures which makes them fair game, so whaddya gonna do?
Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy is crying because everyone is making fun of how terrible his Bessette is dressed and how bad her hair is in those sneak preview images they put out. He’s SO MAD.
Sounds like Ghosts might answer how Sass died in season five. There are some good fan theories floating around out there.
Although she admitted Carrie has “made mistakes” and “not been mature in love,” Parker reasoned, “It’s always interesting to me that [this is] so condemned, but a male lead on a show can be a murderer, and people love him. And if a woman has an affair, or behaves poorly, or spends money foolishly […] there’s a kind of punitive response to it.”
Parker added, “But I ultimately think that all those feelings are pretty fantastic. That kind of connection and those kinds of strong feelings, both positive and negative, are pretty wonderful. People are kind of captive in those moments to something, and I think that’s perfectly fine. I just think, it’s just interesting, the ways in which we judge women, and not men.”
But what Parker misses is that the other female characters on the show also make mistakes and aren’t hated as much as Carrie, because Carrie is THE WORST.
Jessica Biel isn’t closing the door on a second season of The Better Sister, because she’s not an idiot. But it would be interesting to see how they would bring these characters back because that story was pretty much closed in the finale episode.
“There are so many things I look back now and I go — you think, ‘Oh, it’s all about getting a laugh,'” said Forte, who worked on SNL from 2002 to 2010.
“Agree,” Poehler said. “The part about getting older and being in comedy, is you have to figure out: Everything has an expiration date.”
“I misappropriated. I appropriated. I didn’t know. I did know,” she said. “It’s very real, and the best thing you can do is make repair, learn from your mistakes, do better — it’s all you can do.”
“Everything has an expiration date” shouldn’t be such a hard concept for comedians to grasp, and yet, every male comedian over the age of 45 is out here whinging about “cancel culture.” Dumb.
Bea Arthur hated Betty White and often called her the “c-word.”
People are pissed that Watch What Happens Live! had Jax Taylor on as a guest.
Slick Rick is a fan of Beyond the Gates and that makes me happy.
