Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
This is not a religious blog, obviously, but the conclave has taken over TV for the past couple of days. Fans of The View were SO MAD yesterday when coverage of the cardinals entering the conclave preempted their show yesterday. So I assume everyone is very grateful that the cardinals waited until shortly after 11/12 p.m. to release the white smoke today.
Which is for the best they picked (an American!) pope as quickly as they did, lest CBS continue talking about the conclave “rawdogging” it.
Also, I’m glad the pope announcement didn’t interrupt the Joe Biden interview on The View where he had this mic drop moment:

CBS announced their fall schedule yesterday, and addressed why they canceled the shows they canceled; whether or not they might save S.W.A.T. again (no); losing the Grammys; why they pushed Einstein back to next year; and avoided questions about the 60 Minutes mess: “I appreciate the try,” CBS CEO and CCO, News and Sports for Paramount+, George Cheeks said, “but I’ve had no tequila today.”
Look, the binge model works for some, the once-a-week model works for others. There’s an argument that prestige series work better on the once-a-week model; it allows for conversation and speculation because everyone is on the same page. On the other hand, go ahead and binge release those dumb dating shows, reality series, and comedies. There’s no reason to gatekeep all that.
Case in point: I strongly suspect the reason The Four Seasons was the number one show on Netflix this week is because it was delicious and bingeable — it was nearly impossible to turn it off, and because it was on Netflix, you didn’t have to.
Hold up, is Warner Bros. Discovery about to pull its own spinoff like NBCU did with Versant? Will all those Discovery channels be shunted off into their own company? Maybe!
Bob Iger regrets flooding Disney+ with too much content.
This story just confirms for me that Amy Poehler is Leslie Knope.
It doesn’t sound like Litia Garr is joining Bachelor in Paradise. GOOD. STAY AWAY FROM THERE. YOU CAN DO BETTER.
When Abigail Spencer was on All My Children, she brought her mother to set once, where her mom curtsied to La Lucci. And, honestly, that is the only proper reaction to meeting a queen.
Stop it, Hilaria Baldwin. Having dyslexia does not make you adopt a fake accent, lady.
Also, please don’t mention Hilaria Baldwin in any stories about her whining about being bullied by some unnamed celebrity (Amy Schumer), she begs of you, see: “I don’t need to use her name and I don’t want any problems with her, and I would like to be left out of any articles that mention her, because she has nothing to do with me. A total stranger.”
Get well soon, Rondell Sheridan!
