Morgan Wallen has doubled down on his feud with ‘SNL’ for some reason. (The reason is he’s terrible.)

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

So we have some updates on the whole Saturday Night Live/Morgan Wallen brouhaha on Saturday’s episode. As I’m sure you know by now, Wallen abruptly — and rudely — walked off the stage and past the camera during the goodnights on SNL last weekend, before posting a photo of his private plane on Instagram with the caption, “Get me to God’s country” in what certainly was a deliberate snub of the show. His publicity people came out in force claiming that by leaving the stage that way, he was just doing what he did during the dress rehearsal and that no offense was intended.

And then the jokes began:

get me back to god's country

Now that everyone has gotten their spoofs out of their systems, including SNL writer Josh Patten, we have learned that Mr. Wallen was not the most game musical guest. SNL asked him to be in the “Big Dumb Line” sketch, but he refused, so they brought in Joe Jonas to replace him. Page Six also reports that he was “not super friendly” on set.

Wallen’s response? Continue his one-sided culture war by monetizing it. Of course.

More Adolescence news: Less than three weeks from its debut, Adolescence is the 9th most popular series on Netflix of all time. Netflix has since made the series available to all secondary schools across the U.K., along with guides and resources to help parents and teachers navigate conversations with students. (CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE? NO YOU CANNOT BECAUSE WE BAN BOOKS ABOUT PENGUINS IN THIS COUNTRY.)

John Oliver and Last Week Tonight‘s production company are being sued by Dr. Brian Morley who is mad that Oliver said that as the head of a managed care organization, Dr. Morley allowed patients to sit in their own filth. On the episode in question, Oliver played audio of Dr. Morley saying the following:

Oliver also addressed whether this quote was being taken out of context and he insisted that it isn’t, that he’d read the full quote and it is infuriating. Dr. Morley disagrees. Here’s the full quote, in case you were wondering:

In certain cases, yes, with the patient with significant comorbidities, you would want to have someone wiping them and getting the feces off. But like I said, people have bowel movements every day where they don’t completely clean themselves and we don’t fuss over too much. People are allowed to be dirty. It’s when the dirty and the feces and the urine interfere with, you know, medical safety, like in someone who has concomitant comorbidities that you worry, but not in this specific case. I would allow him to be a little dirty for a couple days.

Ummm … well, good luck with your lawsuit, I guess. You’re gonna need it.

Will Paramount’s merger with Skydance manage to kill off one of its golden geese? I wouldn’t mess with Tyler Sheridan if I were you guys …

Doctor Odyssey and Shifting Gears are on the cusp of being canceled.

GMA3: What You Need to Know‘s anchors, DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim, might not have jobs by this summer.

Macauley Culkin has some feelings about all those ID documentaries about child actors and how Hollywood exploits them:

This is a long interview with the entire cast of The White Lotus ahead of Sunday’s 90-minute finale. They don’t give anything away.

If you didn’t already know, Mike White, the creator of The White Lotus, was a contestant on the 37th season of Survivor. Vanity Fair has a great piece on how Survivor helped inspire the pacing and editing of The White Lotus.

CNBC+ is going to be available to Apple TV and Roku users for $14.99 a month which seems high. But then again, I don’t watch CNBC.

QVC is moving to TikTok with a 24/7 live channel selling shit. This is genuinely very clever.

The TCA Summer Press Tour has been canceled. This is the second tour in a row to be canceled — is it a thing of the past?

The one and only Liza Minelli will appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race in the season finale, where she will receive the “Giving Us Lifetime Achievement Award.” The episode airs on April 18.

You and me both, Ross.

Val Kilmer, Actor who starred in The Doors, Top Gun, Batman Forever, Real Genius, Top Secret!, Willow, Heat, True Romance, Tombstone, and many others. Check in on your Gen Xers, this one hurts for us.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, filmmaker Michael Mann said, “While working with Val on Heat I always marvelled at the range, the brilliant variability within the powerful current of Val’s possessing and expressing character. After so many years of Val battling disease and maintaining his spirit, this is tremendously sad news.”

“I always liked Val and am sad to hear of his passing,” Nicolas Cage said in a statement sent to Deadline. “I thought he was a genius actor. I enjoyed working with him on Bad Lieutenant, and I admired his commitment and sense of humor. He should have won the Oscar for The Doors.”
