In which I admit I was wrong about this one thing about ‘Severance’

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

I started a rewatch of Severance last night because TOO LONG BETWEEN SEASONS, and the biggest thing that I took away from the first half of the episodes is that it’s not as slow a start as I somehow convinced myself it was. When I encourage people to watch the series, I always hedge it with, “It’s a slow, cold start. You will have to give it a couple of episodes to really get going.” But … uh … no? No, you don’t? Upon a second viewing, it actually is quite good from the very first episode, and I don’t know what was wrong with me. Maybe my Innie was watching something different?

ANYWAY, this is a long way to go to say that you can become a macrodata sorter yourself at lumon-industries.com, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find myself sort of becoming obsessive with this little game.

Last night was Norah O’Donnell’s final broadcast for CBS Evening News.

Sterling K. Brown turned down a villain role on The Boys and I’m very mad about it.

This is a very sweet and honest piece about why there hasn’t been — and probably never will be — a gay Bachelor series from ABC. While I appreciate the question being asked, the underlying problem is that the entire Bachelor franchise is built on the traditional and harmful heterosexual fairy tale romantic myth and gay relationships (but honestly also most heterosexual relationships) simply do not align with that myth.

Who? I’m not trying to be rude, but I recap this series — I have watched every season for 14 years — and I have no idea who this person is, so no, I don’t think she’ll be the next Bachelorette.

I only learned now that Carice van Houten and Guy Pearce were a couple now that they’ve been split for two years.

Get well soon, Lili Reinhart. And thank you for sharing your story. (As the daughter of a urologist, it’s important that people learn to talk openly about conditions that might be considered “embarrassing” so that others might not suffer.)
