Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

So, funny story: I happen to be in New York City this week and as you might imagine, things have been a little … crazy here. The entire country is obsessed with Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of the United Healthcare CEO, but the murder happened here in New York, blocks away from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. It was wild to walk through a throng of people on their way to gawk at the tree, while simultaneously passing a murder scene that has the nation captivated. Mangione has been arrested, but everyone has something to say about it:

Jesse Watters suggested that someone kill Mangione in prison, a comment that even Jeannie Pirro was horrified by.

Joy Behar is unimpressed by the shooter’s supposed motive.

Jimmy Kimmel is amused that the shooter has such a funny name.

Whereas Stephen Colbert marvels at how horny the internet is for the shooter, and how you can grate parmesan on his abs.

Thanks to his new Netflix comedy special, we now know what happened to Jamie Foxx, and yes, it was a stroke.

So, Rupert Murdoch has this irrevocable family trust set up to control News Corp. and Fox, and it gives his four eldest children equal voting shares. But now Rupert wants to change the trust so that his son Lachlan, the current chair of News Corp., will remain in control of the company after Rupert’s death — which isn’t a given, considering the other three children are far more politically moderate than Lachlan and Rupert. Anyway, Rupert lost his case to change the trust this week, so that’s goodish news (unless he gets it overturned in appeals).

The streamers are making money off of their libraries, not on the original series they are making, which explains why they are so quick to cancel shows.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was there when Kelly met — and fell in love with — Mark and it’s all very sweet.

Stephen Moffat acknowledges that it would be crazy to not make more Sherlock, but calm down, there are no plans to do so at the moment.

Similarly, Kathryn Hahn is down to make more Agatha, so do it already.

Jay-Z has been accused in a civil lawsuit of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with Sean Combs. The suit was filed by Tony Buzbee, the Houston lawyer who has sued Combs on behalf of multiple plaintiffs, and was not particularly surprising: Buzbee had been making noise about other potential high-profile assailants. Jay-Z has released a statement denying the allegations and claiming that Buzbee had attempted to blackmail him into settling.

Pete Hegseth’s lawyer is threatening the woman he sexually assaulted that if he doesn’t get confirmed as Defense Secretary, he’ll sue her. What a great way to demonstrate you respect women and aren’t a misogynistic creep.

Keira Knightly opened up in an interview about being told by men in the industry that she “wanted” to be stalked and scrutinized by the press. “It was a very violent, misogynistic atmosphere. They very specifically meant I wanted to be stalked by men. Whether that was stalking because somebody was mentally ill, or because people were earning money from it — it felt the same to me. Being a young woman in the public eye was a brutal time.”

She also talks about how the whole Love, Actually scene with Andrew Lincoln is SUPER CREEPY and stalkery even when leaving aside the whole thing where she was 17 when it was filmed while Lincoln was 30 and her on-screen husband Chiwetel Ejiofor, was 36. God, I hate that movie.

Lizzo had a court win in the racial and sexual harassment case against her.

After this year’s mess behind the scenes, Eurovision has introduced an official code of conduct for contestants participating in the song contest.

Ty Stiklorius, a music executive, has called out the industry, and recording studios in particular, as being unsafe spaces for women. “When you talk about there aren’t safe spaces, a lot of times in the recording studio, women end up in these spaces,” she said. “It’s late at night, there’s really no rules, and they’re put together by sometimes publishing companies, record labels, sometimes artists and known by songwriters,” Stiklorius continued. “In my 20 years of working in the music business, I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who hasn’t had some kind of traumatic experience in a recording studio.” Cool.

Joe Francis is out here comparing himself to Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale which is such an outrageous thing to type out that I think I might be losing my mind.

After going online and gloating “Your body, my choice,” in reaction to the re-election of Former President Grab ‘Em By The Pussy-Elect, Nick Fuentes got his ass doxxed. A woman then appeared on his doorstep and rang his doorbell, so he pepper-sprayed her in the face. And now he’s been arrested.

One of the operators of Muppet History, a fan-run social media account about the Muppets, has been accused of sending unwanted sexual messages to people, because we can’t have anything good and pure.

I killed a spider
Not a murderous brown recluse
Nor even a black widow
And if the truth were told this
Was only a small
Sort of papery spider
Who should have run
When I picked up the book
But she didn’t
And she scared me
And I smashed her
I don’t think
I’m allowed
To kill something
Because I am
Frightened”
