INFINITE LOLS: A New York jury found Former President Hires Bad Attorneys liable for $83 million in E. Jean Carroll’s second defamation suit against him. The short version: While he was President, Carroll came forward saying that he raped her in a dressing room back in the 90s. He responded by saying she was a liar, that she wasn’t his “type,” that he didn’t know who she was, and called on the public to prove she was conspiring with the Democratic party. At a party, George Conway encouraged Carroll to sue him for defamation, and in 2019, she did just that. In 2023, a jury found that Former President Grab ‘Em By the Pussy had sexually assaulted Carroll (but fell short of finding that he raped her) and defamed her, and awarded her $5 million. BUT THAT WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE FORMER TODDLER-IN-CHIEF, who then went on social media and defamed her even more, countless times. So she hauled his ass back in court, and this new jury agreed with her to the tune of $83 million.

It’s official: Suits was the most-streamed show of 2023. (BUT WHY??) Ted Lasso was the most-streamed original series, and Moana the most-streamed movie. Obviously, the lessons to be taken from this are that networks should move back to 22-episode seasons; USA should return to producing original series for female audiences; and that well-written, emotionally sincere comedies should be in the pipeline, but I GUARANTEE YOU none of those things will come to pass.

Still no explanation for why Dave Chappelle was on the stage for Saturday Night Live‘s goodnights this weekend (he wasn’t the host and he didn’t do a cameo, so wtf? did Fallon bring him?) but Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman were clearly grossed out:

ABC keeps hinting that a Golden Bachelorette is coming.

ANYWAY, the biggest pop culture news this weekend was that my H-town homie, Megan Thee Stallion, released a diss track called “Hiss.” The song took aim at a number of people who have attacked her after rapper Tory Lanez shot her in the foot, including Drake, DaBaby, Chromazz, Lanez himself, and, most notably, Nicki Minaj. (BTW, the song is really good.) Nicki Minaj is LOSING HER MIND over it, and released her response today that even her die-hard fans can defend. Anyway, here’s all the dirt for my fellow olds, in case you were wondering.
