Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

SO HEADS UP: I was planning on watching The Emmys tonight and writing about them tomorrow at some point. Maybe a Not!Live Blog, maybe not, who can say. HOWEVER, I am one of many people who have lost their cable service due to a nationwide AT&T U-verse outage. And it doesn’t seem to be getting fixed anytime soon. So, I may have to wait until it streams on Hulu sometime tomorrow, dammit all to hell.

In celebration of the 75th Emmys, the Television Academy has released its list of the 75 Most Impactful Television Moments. You can read all 75 here.

I don’t know how many of y’all watched The Curse on Paramount+/Showtime whatever, or how many of you started The Curse and then gave up on it part way through, but I am here to tell you that The Curse delivered the most unexpected, and one of the weirdest finales I’ve ever seen. Here, a writer for The Ringer gets high and tries to explain it to his boss, and I have to say, theory number 2 makes a certain sense. (Obviously, don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled.)

Happy 50th anniversary, Happy Days!

Brian Cox wouldn’t necessarily say no to a Succession movie. (They shouldn’t make a Succession movie.)

The Critics Choice Awards were last night. Here are the winners. (Mostly Succession, The Bear and Beef, no big surprises there.)

Host Chelsea Handler zinged ex-boyfriend Jo Koy.

@thesun

The popular comic made the jab just a week after her ex Jo Koy blamed writers for his “bad joke” at the Golden Globes #chelseahandler #criticschoiceawards #goldenglobes #fyp #foryoupage #jokoy

Rude:

(Also, not to be nitpicky, but Jack Black got started in Tenacious D, and Ryan Gosling got started on The Mickey Mouse Club. They are all singers.)

Oh, and back to Jo Koy for a second: no, he’s learned absolutely nothing, if you were wondering.

The Producers Guild Awards nominees have been announced and could be viewed as a preview of the Oscar nominees.

Remember how I said that Joy Behar could have been Ted Lasso’s mom? Yeah, that was news to Ted Lasso.

David Chase is glum about the state of television, saying that he’s been told to dumb down his projects, and saying that the current “Golden Age of Television” is coming to an end: “And to be clear, I’m not talking only about The Sopranos, but a lot of other hugely talented people out there who I feel increasingly bad for,” Chase said. “This is the 25th anniversary, so of course it’s a celebration. But perhaps we shouldn’t look at it like that. Maybe we should look at it like a funeral.”

Kit Harington has opened up some more about his mental health struggles following the success of Game of Thrones.

TJ Holmes drinks way too much.

OH MY GOD DID RON DESANTIS SAY SOMETHING ACTUALLY TRUE FOR ONCE IN HIS GODDAMNED LIFE?

Former President Frivolous Lawsuit continues fucking around, continues finding out.

Mike Lindell stopped paying the bill for his Fox News ads, and owes them $7.8 million, so now they won’t run his MyPillow commercials.

      1. It’s fixed now but earlier it had reposted the 75 most impactful TV moments video with the first spot under MYC. So everything got knocked down one spot. Whatever the problem was is better though!
