Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
H’OH BOY. According to Axios, Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav is now taking a look at acquiring Paramount, because destroying Warner Brothers wasn’t enough for him. I mean, it makes some sense: it would give Warner Bros. a network — CBS — and access to the NFL, and merging Paramount with Warner Bros. Discovery would give Max … or Paramount Max+ with HBOtime or whatever the hell they’ll call it — more of a competitive edge against the likes of Netflix and Disney+. Still, Zaslav loves nothing more than deleting content in the name of cutting debt, so this feels more like a threat than anything.

I'm assuming Zaslav plans on combining his horrendous content decisions and ability to ruin a brand practically overnight with Paramount's special ability to make a streaming app that's indistinguishable from a computer virus. https://t.co/DLbFoEzALc

Thinking about Zaslav potentially having control of both Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon might be what finally unlocks my Carrie White telekinesis to set buildings on fire with my mind.

the angriest internet moment in history will be when Zaslav kills a Star Trek thing for a tax cut https://t.co/mkU31mKvVd

The only thing that might save us is that when Wall Street opened this morning, shares of both Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery dropped on this news … so who knows whether or not this will actually happen.

NCIS will say goodbye to David McCallum with a special episode next season. The second episode, scheduled to air on February 19, will address McCallum’s passing and pay tribute to his character, Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard.
The best thing that happened to Meghan McCain in a while was having Ana Navarro shade her on The View last week. Christ, what an asshole.
Sounds like The Bear will start filming in February or March. YES, CHEF!
George Clooney, who was friends with Matthew Perry, opened up about how Perry wasn’t happy while making Friends, despite believing that if he just landed a sitcom, he’d be fulfilled.
Jack Black will not be in The White Lotus this season despite some weird rumor going around that he would be? I mean, OK?
This is a good piece on why Seth Meyers is hosting the best show on late night. (He is. Fight me.)
Both Survivor and The Masked Singer crowned their winners last night and John Schneider thinks that God had a hand in why he was SPOILER! the Donut on The Masked Singer and I just don’t even know what to say about that.
Cancellations
- Shining Vale has been canceled after two seasons on Starz. It will also be removed from the streaming service at the end of the month. It’s a goofy little show that makes all sorts of great classic horror allusions, and I’m sorry to see it go.
This show gave me unrelenting joy to work on. Not a single bad day. Please watch the #starz (turns out, Limited) series #shiningvale before 12/31. #wearephelps pic.twitter.com/6gyWiStLx6

Such a wonderful experience! If you haven’t seen it, now you can just do a trial and watch (sadly) all the episodes. Sorry about the cliffhanger. 😢 https://t.co/FXpCEm1HuC
